Visited on tuesday evening beginning august. Had a rumpsteak which was very large but a bit fatty and chips like burger king. Ate inside which was nice and cool or there is a good size outside area with a lovely lakeview. English is understood with quite a few english customers at the time. 70 euros for 3 mains, 2 small beers, 2 glasses of wine and a desert. Not the fantastic place that some rave about but perfectly adequate for a family evening meal.

Restaurants and cafes are not abundant in this area so when we stopped here we were not expecting to much, how wrong we were, such s good find, lovely family run place, truly Spanish with excellent food and very cheap. Don't pass by.

Fantastic little bar/restaurant in the village of Colmenar. Excellent selection of home made tapas at very reasonable prices (â¬1 - 2 each).Pepa is very Spanish and very efficient and friendly and she runs the front of house. Antonio is the chef who occasionally comes out of the tiny kitchen for a beer between orders !Two or three little tables out front allow one to watch the people of Colmenar go about their business, while a charming courtyard inside allows you to have a quieter time away from the traffic. There is also a more formal, sit down restaurant area.

Cocina creativa y mediterránea en un ambiente informal y relajado.
Well worth visiting when passing by the town, this restaurant is in the middle of town and usually well frequented. We ignored the tapas menu in favour of the main courses, which were cooked to order and all very appetising. They have some nice wines on their list and service was good
Hostal-Mesón La Era, in Riogordo, Málaga Province, offers typical Andalusian food and accommodation in a country setting.
This bar has added rooms, which are very nice and comfortable. As far as we know, it's the only place to stay in Riogordo. The food was pretty average - out of the freezer. The worst bit was the welcome - we felt they wished we weren't there. The breakfast was very stingy - just coffee and toast with butter. By Spanish standards, that's impolite.

This was a special family meal and we were not disappointed. My duck confit was perfection, and other family members had steak, pork and chicken. Definitely the best meal of our stay, service excellent, accompanying wines perfect, and the ambiance just right. We moved on to Malaga for a few nights and sadly didn't have a meal that matched this excellent restaurant. Hopefully we will visit again . Thanks for a memorable evening. Very reasonably priced said our son who paid the bill!
Newly arrived in Riogordo and a bit phased by the lack of places to go - specially on a Sunday. We came across this place which, to us, just looked like a bar. A few locals sitting round on bar stools watching the tv. We had a cold drink outside on a terrace out the back with a not particularly attractive view and asked (in our basic Spanish) for a menu. The chap who had served our drinks looked blank. I went inside and asked at the bar and again drew a blank. We assumed they were just a bar so we probably missed out on some good local food. Didn't feel brave enough to try again. So the moral is - if you have good Spanish then I am sure this could be worth a go. Note to me - improve my language skills.

During our stay in Riogordo, we ate-in here twice and ordered take-away a 3rd time but this was largely due to the minimal alternate dining options available â perhaps due in part to the time of year. The pizza here is quite good â the pepperoni particularly.

Bar Molina ended up being our local during our two week stay in Riogordo. It was very close to our holiday rental and seemed the best option in the village which is not exactly leading the way in haute cuisine. We love Spain and have stayed in many a Pueblo Blanco but did find Riogordo rather limiting. However there were lots of other places to explore within a close distance. See other reviews. We liked this place as it was friendly and efficient. The cerveza is served in iced glasses and is wonderfully cold. The tapas majors rather on fried food and the portions are very generous so we rather over-ordered the first night. Food freshly cooked and good quality. We ate here 3 or 4 times during our stay. The staff were always welcoming and found us a table even if we just wanted a drink. The bar is always busy - specially from about 10 p.m. which is when people start to wander out to eat. We were amused by the fact that when more people arrived than were tables for, the owner just dragged a plastic table and a couple of chairs down from a pile and put them in the road, gradually taking over more and more of the road so cars had to pick their way very slowly indeed - often having a chat with friends who were eating. UK Health and Safety people would be horrified. It was great. I wish I was back there now.

So pleased a friend suggested we try this place out!! Hidden away in a sleepy spanish pueblo. Lovely bar & restaurant immaculately clean. We received a warm welcome from Francisco who speaks good English too. We perused the menu and Francisco recommended dishes to try for starters to share between us, we had mushrooms with king prawns, stuffed peppers with fish & local cheese in a lobster sauce along with spinach & cheese wrapped in filo pastry. All starters were great! Main courses we ordered Seafood risotto ( this was packed with flavour truly amazing). Steak in a Madeira sauce succulent and delicious, Salmon & king prawn in a Lobster bisque wonderful, Ravioli pasta stuffed with salmon in a sauce divine! We had desserts of Panacotta with carrot cake ice cream, chocolate cake & cheesecake finished with coffee. I have to say I was more than impressed with the quality of food served to us today, fresh packed full of flavour, cooked perfectly and presentation excellent! Top marks must go to the chef! The service was brilliant professional & informative of all courses. Thank you so much for a fabulous lunch serving amazing food and making us feel so welcome. We surely will be back and tell all our friends of the hidden gem we have found.
