Traditional place in a well located corner of downtown Mar del Plata. No luxury, very noisy, somewhat crowded, but... excellent italian food and argentinean desserts. Experience the sorrentinos (filled with cheese) with pesto. Perfect portions (for one). Dessert: flan or "budin de pan" (bread pudding), both with "dulce de leche" (milk jam). Ask for the house wine. Food comes very quickly, and prices are good. Not for a formal dinner, but ideal for a meal with friends or family. Attention: you may have to wait for a table, specially in summer season. Please send us your feedback we hope to see you soon.

Manolo has at least two locations in Mar del Plata, and both are excellent. This one has a wonderful ocean view, while the other is dowtown, but the food is equally good in both restaurants. The pizza is outstanding, the calamari is the best I've ever had, and the prices and portions are more than fair. Not much else to say.... Manolo is great!

You must book a table before. This place is full. The food is fresh, reasonable prices and taste good! You will enjoy it! One major plus it that the host speaks English, that's not common in Mar Del Plata. Very good place to eat with friends and family.

Viento en Popa is a true gem of Mar del Plata. One would think that a port city would have plenty of choices when it comes to good fish restaurants, but you will be unpleasantly surprised. I would not recommend any of the touristic restos that are in the port. Luckily, Viento en Popa exists to offer great fish, cooked the right way and in very reasonable prices, especially since their portions are generous. We have been there many times already with family and friends and were always treated very well and served quickly, which is really important if you have small kids. Also, they offer other plates that are not fish/seafood related if you have people in your group that don't like fish. The restaurant is -almost- always full, so you might want to make a reservation. All in all, a very positive experience in this family oriented, simply decorated, simply fresh cooked fish joint.

It was great to re-visit this Mar del Plata classic, for locals with a good palate, traditional restaurant. Food is unpretentious with excellent attention to ingredient quality, portions are generous. Wine list has improved since our last visit, service is sober but super efficient. Pricing, while not budget offers better value than a couple of competitors which we also visited during this long-weekend trip with the family.Overall, I think that La Casa Vieja is one of the best kept culinary secrets in Mar del Plata. It doesn't get the press and the hype of other places but matches and outshines many of these better known places. In my opinion, this restaurant is not to be missed if you visit Mar del Plata.

I was walking by the street and I saw a hostess. She was with a chart, and a couple of families waiting to get in there. My wife usually prefers to choose places if they are full of people but I prefer to avoid crowds. In this opportunity I was amazed of the existence of a structure. I take a look and got a glimpse of a couple of things: a maitre, runners and waiters all over. Mar del Plata is a city but it´s not Buenos Aires. Still today it´s difficult to find a restaurant where you can recognize a complete organization. I made my mind and we walked inside. They gave us a table right away and from the beginning to the end I got nothing but excellence. Great service, great kindness and good food. Maybe the food wasn´t the best thing, but still an excellent whole experience. My wife took a Merluza that had too much lemon, and I got a delicious stuffed with a seafood combination pasta. It was a great deal. Good prices.Maybe the best place I´ve been in Mar del Plata.

What an incredible place run by some of the warmest and most genuine people that we met during our time in Argentina. Marcelo and the Pontevedra family welcomed us to a very intimate and lively New Year's Eve. The food (far more than we could eat) was delicious, the service was perfect, and the atmosphere was genuine and celebratory. After dinner and a midnight champagne toast (the first of MANY to come), Marcelo put on some music and we all danced, drank, sang, hugged, and wished one another "Buen año." It was a wonderful meal with equally wonderful people ... one that we won't forget. Thank you!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. The great thing about this place is that it's a closed door restaurant, so you call ahead for reservations. We were served a dish of potatoes and meat together, as well as some sushi-- the chef was showcasing her award winning sushi. We the had live music while eating dessert. I highly recommend going to this restaurant if you get a chance, for a fun night with a great environment.Hi Kristen! it was such a pleasure to meet you, and thanks for visit our country. Hope you come here often and call us to dinner in our place. Greetings from all the staff :)
