I hadnât been to La Tertulia before. I was very pleasantly surprised by the meal we had there today. Sadly, itâs about to close for the winter so I should give you my opinion. We were looking for good meat, and we got it. A chuleton de vaca retinta, well cooked and with excellent accompaniment. The chips were excellent. I could go into greater detail but there is no reason to do so. The service was first class. Weâll probably be back, even though this restaurant is a bit far from where we normally eat. In the summer months we would probably avoid it. Itâs nice to see how many relatively new restaurants are continually cropping up, with offerings that reflect the splendid improvement in quality and imaginativeness of Spanish cuisine.

We were actually aiming to eat in another restaurant nearby in Zahora but there was no way to park. I donât usually review a restaurant after one visit but theyâre closing tomorrow for the âwinterâ so I wonât get back there for quite some time. To start with, the service was efficient and friendly. We shared a falafel for the first course. For the second, my friend ate some solomillo which had been marinaded in something or other. He was very pleased with it. I had the caballas, chunks of marinaded mackerel with a tasty mayonnaise and red pepper jam. Mackerel is not a very highly- regarded fish but it has an excellent flavour. When you donât have to separate it from the bones, but can concentrate on the flavour, and enjoy the good that the omega 3 is doing you, itâs a no-brainer. In short, a very enjoyable meal. Weâll be back next year, maybe, though out of season again.

Restaurant with charm, in a privileged place of the caños de meca with a traditional cuisine with products of first quality. Where you can enjoy a good meal or a mojito watching the sunset.

Simple quick fare and good parking. Access to the beach and pilgrimage to Trafalgar. Pulpo was fine . Great being out in the sun in the garden.

This is a delightful semi outdoor restaurant, under a canopy in a lovely garden. The restaurant is busy, and well organised by friendly, attentive but not fussy staff. The ambience is relaxed, and the focus is very much on the food. Starters show plenty of choice; we had superb croquetas and a plate of tempura anchovies. Be warned; the plate of anchovies is massive, and plenty for two as a starter or even a light lunch! Given the area, the red tuna is a must try, and a whole section of the menu is devoted to this local delicacy. We were not disappointed; serving tuna as a tartare or sashimi style demands the freshest and highest quality fish, and thatâs exactly what we got. Tartare was served on a guacamole style base, and was subtly marinaded. The sashimi had been seared very quickly with a coating of sesame and poppy seeds, then served with wasabi and a soy dip. Both were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Sharing from each otherâs plates in the Spanish style is expected and encouraged, and we took full advantage!There is a small range of desserts, again, beautifully prepared and served. We can recommend the cheesecake with fig compote(sounds a bit âho humâ, but not when itâs as well done as this!), and my personal star of the show, âla Brena â. This is a house dish made from local ingredients, and Iâve never tasted anything like it. Itâs a mousse, but with some really unusual textures and flavours, and definitely not to be missed. We were watching other dishes coming out from the charcoal-grill equipped kitchen, and thinking âI want to try thatâ. Weâre going back....

Went here whilst visiting with Spanish friends and on their recommendation. The first thing is we did not have a reservation but they were really friendly and helpful and said if we could hang around the bar for about 10-15 minutes, they could put two tables together for us (we were six). Service attentive, efficient and friendly without being over the top. We ordered a load of dishes for the middle of the table so we could share - we had a few starters and one main dish (doubled) as we had had a big lunch. Everything was freshly prepared and well presented. The staff are young and whilst professional there is a bit of a party atmosphere about the place which was fun. Absolutely recommend this place.

Located close to camping location on a main road. Dining room spartan but big seating area outside.Shrimp/gamba appetizer was served but with cold sauce. Whole plate was reheated and then the gambas were overcooked. Husband found the octopus very good, with various colorful and tasteful sauces.Grilled fish was good but not great. It was served with a small half of a potato with a dollop of sour cream or similar and a few overcooked veggies. Bread was what seems to be common in the area, a roll and not so fresh. Was served a different tap beer after having a different bottled beer. That shouldn't have happened. This was the 4th or 5th restaurant we visited and the others were quite a bit better. Service was good but we were the first there so there wasn't a lot of customers to serve. The staff were friendly.

The food, service and relaxed, casual atmosphere here are wonderful. We stayed at the La Brena hotel for a week and ate in the hotelâs restaurant three times. The tuna dishes are very good and well worth trying. The wines are excellent, too, and offer tremendous value for money. If you visit Los Canos de Meca, give this place a try!

We made a reservation to have lunch, and the manager was very kind and had the perfect table for us. When we arrived, the table was located at an excellent place, away from direct sun and wind, so we could enjoy our meal.We ordered a banana guacamole with vegetable chips, goat cheese/asparagus risotto with quail meatballs, and also local fish that had a zesty marinade. Absolutely delicious! Waitresses were very professional. The restaurant and bathroom very clean. I had the pleasure to meet the manager who made the reservation and she was also the chef that cooked our amazing meals! Highly recommended, fair prices and excellent quality.MuchÃsimas gracias por su visita y por sus palabras, para nosotros es un placer recibirles y hacer que su paso por La Laja sea de lo más agradable posible.

The sensational fusion of Japanese, Spanish and World food does not begin to describe the beauty and originality of this food. A very high standard indeed. We drank Lustauâs manazanilla and a beer matured in oloroso barrels ( delicious and with appropriate aroma). We started with a frittata with bonito flakes: which moved with the heat of the dish. We then Had a cerviche with white fish and mild curry sauce. For two it came to 65 Euros. A bargain when you taste the love that has gone into the food. The menu is extensively fish. But to try it it is to know it.
