Tapas bar located near the gas station. With gorgeous views of North Africa , Estrecho of Gibraltar and the Valle del Genal where you can taste good wines , local food and good atmosphere.
Iâm surprised this is as low as it is on the ratings in GaucÃn especially when you see that nearly everyone has given it a 4* or 5*. The food here is excellent, Home made, served with a smile. I had an outstanding lunchtime menu for â¬9 which included an ensalada mixta, a pisto com hueva (ratatouille, eggs and chips) and melon as desert. They do an amazing avocado salad, a great selection of montadito. The bar inside is also super friendly, although at lunchtime itâs nice to sit across the road.

Mama Antonia runs the kitchen and the breakfast omelette is superb. we have also eaten lunch and dinner here and the food is always good. It is unfortunate for those of us who live locally that they close for several weeks in the winter.

This is a reliable tapas bar in the town. It is quite some way in and parking is a challenge so best to walk in if possible. There is lots of choice and the portions of food are large so be careful not to over order. The staff are friendly and they are open on a Sunday when others are closed.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a visit to Gaucin. We were shown a tray of fresh fish and were both tempted by the sea bass. The meal was delicious. Very fresh and beautifully cooked not to mention reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and we were made to feel very welcome.

We have been to this restaurant during annual visits to Gaucin and enjoyed it----- views, outdoor terrace, homemade dishes, etc. This trip however was a totally different experience. We entered and were noticed by the person at the bar. We sat on the terrace in full view of kitchen staff. We sat. For fifteen minutes. No one came to our table to take our order. As we left the cafe, we passed again by the bar, no comment, nada from the bar person. Then we realized that what might have changed in this restaurant is that they now are indifferent to a foreign clientele. Why return when one is not welcomed to be there?

In same plaza as el lateral. in front of fountain.
Remembering this bar/restaurant from over 10Years ago, it was delightful to go back. Same lovely family running it, great friendly service. We enjoyed tapas there at lunchtime and went for an eve meal - grilled squid and pork were both delicious.

popped into this restaurant for tapas as Casa Pepe below in the square served only dinners. In the event we had bulls-tail ravioli. Really excellent. Accompanied by a good red wine it made a really outstanding dinner completed by coffee from a caffeteria. Charming waitress too. Restaurant closes early (9.30pm)

La Fructuosaâs cuisine has always been rooted in tradition and the quality of our mostly locally sourced products. Our recipes are regularly renewed and new creations added to the menu to offer diners a culinary experience and a tribute to Andalusian cuis
The food was good, especially the starter. The service was poor however. They were totally understaffed meaning we didnât get drinks when we wanted. We had to wait for ages to order. The other point was that the discount was not applied at the same nd and when it was the receipt showed a discount of 23%. When I queried whether the 30% discount had been applied, I was told very sternly as if I was an idiot that the discount only applied to food. Disappointing all in all.Dear Sir, I am sorry that you did not enjoyed our restaurant. I was absent the night you came to our restaurant and all our guests arrived at the same time in our restaurant which has created a slower service than usual. The promotion we ran this month applied indeed only to food but it should have been explained to you in a respectful manner. Please accept our apologies if it wasn't the case. Kind regards, Daniel

Family Restaurant. Spanish and Mediterranean traditional cooking Tapas & Portions to share or not! Open for lunch and dinner Great selection of wines!
This was our first experience of Spanish food in GaucÃn and we were thrilled to find this beautiful restaurant on our door step. The owner was so welcoming, we felt at ease and relaxed immediately. The restaurant is perched above a pretty town square and is decorated in a charming style. The very helpful owner helped us choose a combination of sharing dishes for our family to try. When they were served to us we were overwhelmed by the exquisite presentation and the taste was absolutely beautiful. Everything was so fresh and delicious...the salads and fruits were bursting with Spanish sunshine! The puddings - a brownie with caramel ice cream and fried milk (gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!!) - completed our perfect meal.If you visit GaucÃn you must try Azulete...it really is stunning! Thank you very much for your nice review!Pleasure to serve you and very happy that you enjoy our food, service and atmosphere.Thank you for coming!Best RegardsAzulete Team

Friendly with excellent, modern Andalusia food and a dining room/terrace with great far-reaching views. In an elevated position on the main road running past the top of the village. Public parking nearby. Stylish interior, staff very helpful and spoke English. Food is a modern take on Andalusia cooking, beautifully presented. A mix of small plates and more main dishes plus pudding. My veggie partner found his options a bit limited, not unusual for Andalucia, but he said it was very good. I hope to visit again!
