If you are expecting a flash restaurant donât go here, this is traditional, homely and very welcoming. The amount and quality of food is superb and you must have steak which is perfect and clearly their speciality. Great value and lovely people please go

Nice place a very good traditional basque cooking. If you what to try the traditional boned steak or "txuleta" this is the place.The restaurant can be a little difficult to find if not well directed.

The daily menu is quite good. The risotto con mariscos which I chose was delicious. The place is actually famous for its delicious calamares and I agree they are very good. We had a bit of problem with placing the order though and staff seemed not that friendly or even apologetic about not serving us.Don't expect nice view if you sit outside; what you will see is the street bins.

El bar no está en la zona más céntrica de Galdácano, pero siempre suele tener un gran ambiente Amplia variedad de pintxos, tortillas, bocadillos y sándwiches con una relación calidad-precio correcta. También probamos a desayunar en el local con tostadas, café y pintxos y todo fue bastante correcto. El servicio es rápido y la atención muy amable. Sin duda, recomendamos hacer una visita al Galdacanés si estás por la zona.

Eneko didn't disappoint and I agree with other reviewers that, relatively expensive as it is, It offers good value as it is still gathering momentum and taking up the baton handed over by Azurmendi (which is stratospheric). We had booked months before the sister operation in London appeared on Masterchef and that won't have done it any harm. There was a co-incidental large wedding party being catered for on the terrace outside which, I must say, impacted not at all on our enjoyment of our meal. This modern trend of dining up against the kitchen is entertaining but actually all the hard prep work has been done behind the scenes and all we witness is the fun part of assembling the final dishes. But the serving and cheffing staff all worked impressively efficiently and unobtrusively.

After a long day, I arrived at Aretxondo, having decided to try it instead of its elder sibling "Andra Mari". I have been in Andra Mari a couple of times, but not in Aretxondo. So it was a good time to try it. Upon entering the dining area, I had the feeling that I had made a right choice. As in Andra Mari, service is offered by ladies. My limited Spanish helped me get a table and order. I later discovered that the lady serving me knew English quite well. I had grilled kokotxas de merluza with sea crab meat, and a trio of bacalao, accompanied by the wonderful local wine "txakoli".The kokotxas were divine, the cod really good. Alll in all, a place I want to visit again.

We worked our way through the short and concise menu. We each chose different dishes, so that we could taste most of the menu. the restaurant happily obliged and brought us plates that allowed us to share everything.It was an excellent experience and the food was memorable.

Never been here before, but I'd heard so much about this that this was a destination restaurant for us. Not open for dinner most of the week this time of year, so we stopped in for lunch.First of all the building is beautiful, and once you step inside you see that it has a terrific view of the valley.We noticed that many (but not all) guests went out on the patio for a pre-prandial drink. Then coming inside for the meal. Many then went back outside for their post-prandial coffee. We were not offered this, so regulars must just know to ask.There were two menus, a six course and an eight course, and we noticed that everything (and more) was also available ala carte. With this in mind we ordered ala carte as there were several things on the menus that didn't interest us.Afterwards we were given a tour of the basement where the wine is stored and they have several rooms for private parties. Very nice decor and ambiance. Wonderful service and a great value as well considering the quality of the food. Not much English spoken.I really like this restaurant because it is simple combinations of expertly cooked food that comes out refined and elegant. Only one dish didn't work for us, but that wasn't because the chef was reaching with some crazy combinations or techniques, just personal preference.Highly Recommended

Sencillamente espectacular!! Trabajo en la zona y a pesar de pasar prácticamente todos los dÃas por delante no habÃa tenido el privilegio de ir a probar su menú. Este viernes tenÃamos cosas que celebrar y decidà celebrarlo con un menú del dÃa del batzoki. Solo palabras buenas, atención soberbia!!! Camarero rubio simpático a mas no poder. El jefe también chapó!! Nos sirvió lo cafes y paso por la mesa para preguntar qué tal habÃamos comido. La carne..... BuenÃsima, la ENSALADA GENIAL!! Me encanta conocer restaurantes nuevos y os diré que a este vuelvo seguro!! Bilbao me apasiona... Pero sus restaurantes más!!
