We were going to another restaurant for menu but it was closed. We tried El Rocio by chance. I had a delicious consommé, succulent chicken and chocolate mousse, all homemade. It was busy, always a good sign, and the service was excellent and the staff were friendly. We will be going again.
When you go there ask for Pedro. Ask him to cut you a plate of ham and cheese... He also serves other dishes. great place to go and have a some tapas and a beer.

Booked in for 2 nights, should have booked for longer, lovely quiet cave houses with a pool, owners could not have been more helpful. Kids loved the place and wanted to stay longer.

Excellent, tasteful food, large servings â quite some value for the money! Definitely a restaurant we will visit again. We were recommended the place by several of the locals, and it was at times packed with hungry lunch- or dinner guests. Having no menu in English they solved it by producing one in handwriting with some help from a couple of the regular guests. The three course lunch menu at EUR 8,- satisfied us both days, and will be our regular lunch and/or dinner spot when returning in february. Of all the seven other lunch restaurants we tested this was the best!

We have visited the restaurant only once in the evening. It was very quiet, although do keep in mind that the Spanish tend to eat at about 9.30 - 10pm at night. I have lunched here often - mostly quite basic Spanish food is served although the food has always been tasty. You can eat outside, inside at the bar area or in the restaurant. I have never had any complaints re this restaurant. Please note - Las Palmeras is closed during the month of July.

What a strange place! Well, more somewhat a strange lady who owns / works there. She showed us to a table for two by an opened window, nice cool air, but open to any insects that may fancy a look in. Anyway, she began by saying "what would you like to eat?, we have everything". She then rhymed off dozens of various foods at us. When she finished, I asked if she had a menu for us to look at, she looked bemused, but off she went and returned with one. She also brought wine from the barrel and water as ordered. The wine was barely drinkable, but was the only wine available by the glass. I added gaseosa so I could drink it. Wife could t drink it at all. We chose two starters, neither of which were available. She told us that she had no vegetables and that they are delivered in the evening. Mmmmmm. Ok, so we ordered the salad, which arrived promptly, was fresh, but badly done. Lots of lettuce storks, too much tuna, not enough onion or tomatoes. Very basic for â¬7.50. Anyway, we decided to carry on as we were short on time. I opted for the entrecôte, which to be fair, was very good. Well cooked, good meat. My wife had lamb chops. Greasy and not so good. When we finished this course we asked for the bill and left. The lady who served us was totally weird. She stood over us and watched as we ate our salad, and again at our main courses. She was just strange, funny strange. final verdict was that it was entertaining for sure, but quality and comfort were generally poor ( apart from the entrecôte which was great ). Terrible house wine and erratic service.

I eat regularly at The Murciano Fortuna. Each time I eat there the food has been excellent. It is spotless and you receive first class service. Menu del dia is better than anywhere I have eaten, but the evening menu al a carte is a meal you have to experience, it is superb.

Some British ex-pats recommended this restaurant for us, based on both location, service and the menu.Yes, the location was perfect, less than five minutes by car from our hotel in Banos de Fortuna. And the service as well, Janyra too good care of us, supplying menus in both Spanish, English and German. The menu of the day gave us a wide variety to choose from, salad, starter, main dish and dessert for ten euros is quite a bargain. But! And more precisely a cigarette Butt! The restaurant has around twenty seats indoor, flanked by about the same amount in a tent like arrangement. And all tables in the tent had ashtrays on them, and people of course smoked there! No ventilation fan, and an open door leading into the main restaurant made the whole place filled with smoke. I honestly had not expected this to happen in these days where the norm is that smoking is an outdoors activity. At least I should not be forced to inhale cigarette smoke while eating! There is a patio also, with tables, and I might consider returning for the food if the weather permits seating thereâ¦

You really feel welcome when you enter this place. Service is fast and food very good.Prices are as well good, menu del dia is well worth its cost. The owner, probably father in the family, supervise all things in a cosy way......whenyou are finished he might put the Veterano (Spanish brandy) bottle on the table so that you can choose the size of your final drink on your own.Highly recommended place if you want a peaceful, nice meal. Be there early, several tables can be booked.
