Small, cosy restaurant in a historic building in old Guimar. We had three evening dinners here. Awesome! The first day we tried a gourmet menu to see what the cook has to offer. The other days we just followed the advice of the hostess about the specialties of the house and her excellent advice on local wines. By the way, there is also a vinoteca in the same building.

They don't have a menu so really it's best to just let them recommend something, that's what we did and everything was utterly delicious. We shared their specialty which is a mix of fish and shellfish in a flavoursome broth. Fish was served whole, beautifully fried, with crispy skin and juicy flesh. Great dish. We didn't know what dessert to get so just asked the owner to bring what he likes and ended up with a yummy banana mousse of some sort. Everything was fresh and tasty, there's an ocean view and everyone is really friendly. Highly recommended! Thank you!

As ever, cafe al mar is the perfect place to be. Wonderful sea views. Quiet location. Totally relaxing atmosphere. Tapas are good and imaginative, beautifully presented, and extremely reasonably priced. Drinks, too. Highly recommended.

This charming restaurant offers a genuine Canarian cuisine of excellent quality and beautifully presented. The personnel is very welcoming and has attention for details. We had dinner here twice in a week and both experiences were remarkable enough for us to warmly recommend tasting a few of this restaurant's dishes. The suggestion menu offers a wide variety of dishes and changes quite regularly, making a return visit even more worthwhile. We pretty much only chose amongst the suggested dishes and were never disappointed, on the contrary. The terrace behind is cosy and delightful.

Nach einer schönen Wanderung kehrten wir in der Bodegon Castro ein. Es war eine Empfehlung eines Freundes und wir wurden gemeinsam nicht enttäuscht. Von auÃen konnte man nicht vermuten wie sauber und freundlich es innen war. Kleine Enttäuschung: die Küche wurde nicht mehr von der âMamaâ geleitet. Stattdessen trafen wir auf 2 Herren, die das Restaurant bewirtschaften. Spezialität ist der Ziegengulasch, und der war hervorragend. Auch das Rind in Sauce schmeckte bestens, dazu noch ein leckerer Wein und die Welt ist in Ordnung. Toller Geheimtipp und sicherlich kehren wir wieder dort ein, trotz fehlender âMamaâ

This is as local as it gets. You have to que on the street to get in for cheap, neat lunch and wine. Noise level of locals is out of this world, but it comes with the package. Food is just awesome.

Don't be put off by the randomness of the location and the mad road to get there. The food and service were tremendous (although we had to go with the proprietor's recommendations in the absence of a menu, and had no idea of cost). Nonetheless, the pork rib and stewed goat were outstanding, as were the potatoes, salad, cheese and drinks. Really worth the effort. â¬28 total. Incredible value for such good food.

I go here all the time when heading back to the airport! Itâs kind of like the last supper after a brilliant holiday with my Canarian boyfriend! Donât go here if youâre a vegetarian but if you love meat then this is the place to go! Fresh meat! Absolutely delicious! Great value for money! Chocolate mousse is pretty good too!
