This place is excellent. We stopped here intending just to have a drink and maybe some tapas/ pinchos. We struck lucky because this was a Friday when they have the Fiesta del chuletón - not to be missed! We were lucky to get a table, not having booked, but as we read the menu board outside in disbelief at the extraordinary good value on offer (â¬20 for TWO including, salad, a shared T-bone steak, a jug of drinkable Rioja and desert) we had to try this. The meal was excellent - great atmosphere, friendly staff - altogether a great experience.

This restaurants is located on a pedestrian thoroughfare, along with a few cafes and bars. Sitting out was a treat, just watching the world go by. The food was excellent - would heartily recommend the fish skewer and the stuffed peppers. Staff were friendly and helped with any language difficulties.

It has been really a great surprise. One of the best examples of the northern cuisine. Amazing fresh products, nice cooking and excellent wines... of course we're in La Rioja. The service is helpful and friendly. At the end you've the strange feeling that you are paying less than what the meal deserves.

After a short flight and a short drive we arrived in Calahorra on a Wesdnesday evening. Some restaurants were closed, but we easily found a table in Chef Niño. After ordering some starters, grilled mushrooms (funghi porcini in the season) were absolutely fresh and tasty, toast with tomato and anchovies (unique in the North of Spain) and some grilled peppers, we decided to order lamb chops (milk lamb) and bacalao al pil pil. The waiter was so honest and kind as to warn us that originally we ordered too much food. He suggested for the starters had portions which we did and it appeared to be OK. the lamb chops were good, the bacalao as well but could have used a bit more taste. We left the restaurant happy and had to pay a more then reasonable amount of money.

The restaurant has a very nice interior traditional lodge type. The food is excellent based on local ingredients and traditional northern Spanish cuisine. The wine list was not compatible with the level of the restaurant.Other then that great place to eat if you are in the area.
