Things to do in Betancuria
I live about a 30 minute drive from here and took some friends for a day out. They had a look around the church and we decided on a coffee and some tapas. It was 11.45am, but we were told that food isn't available yet, so we had to settle for 1 coffee, 1 tea and 1 diet coke. The terrace and restaurant are very pretty and "olde worldy", we were surprised that the place was virtually deserted even though it was really busy outside. The staff were friendly. The toilets are AMAZING and worth a visit. We then came to pay the bill......WOW....9.50 euros for the 3 drinks! Even though I speak Spanish and questioned the price, that was it!I would normally pay about 3.50 - 4.00 euros for that even in the tourist areas of Corralejo.Sad really as they have a beautiful spot and restaurant, just felt ripped off.I think it must be new owners as my wife and I used to come for Sunday lunch here about 10 years ago and it was reasonably priced and great quality!

We stopped on our way passing through Antigua desperate for a decent cup of coffee & we were not disappointed I did not sample the menu but I did order a goats cheese & tomato roll which was exelent. The bar was quite busy with locals & we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were so friendly we returned a second time.

600 year old historic estate converted in to a stunning restaurant, bar and rural hotel in the magestic setting of Betancuria, Fuerteventura. The restaurant offers local canario food at reasonble prices. The rural hotel provides rustic rooms in a tranquil
Visited Betancuria when we first arrived and totally missed everything. This place is set in the village hidden behind a door that if it was shut you would never know the delights behind. The setting is typically Spanish with some gorgeous little places to sit and enjoy either the food, beer or coffee. Many people eating a variety of typical Spanish dishes all of which looked wonderful but you can only eat so much and we didn't have enough time or belly space The court yard area is draped in vines, flowers and ornate wood work. I have submitted photos so hopefully you can see how pretty this place is.
In Betancuria there's only a handful of places to eat and this place doubles up as a little shop, a little bar and local restaurant with only a few tables inside and out. It's not particularly aimed at tourists as most of the folks in there appeared to be locals. The menu was in 4 languages, but this didn't appear to help much as the dish numbers didn't tie up exactly. So you ordered a 14 of the English page, but it wasn't 14 on the Spanish page etc etc. So, in the end we had to work out what the Spanish number was. All added to the local experience though and it was such a nice change from being in a typical tourist restaurant where everyone and everything was in English. We had eight meals and a few drinks and we all enjoyed our meal. Service was a bit slow initially to get the order taken but I guess this is normal for this type of local restaurant. Where this falls down a bit is that I saw other folks sit down at tables and then get up again and walk off because no-one had been to them in about 10 mins. The food was good and I really enjoyed the setting, just by the roadside in Betancuria. I liked it.

Ate here with friends in May after a dander around the village. 9 little plates of tapas to share between us. Goat stew, peas with bacon, padron peppers, chickpeas with chorizo, paella etc.All quite tasty but veering towards the bland. I would have liked a little more ooomph!Quirky decor and great ambience though so a memorable lunch. Did not have to pay to use the toilet.Recommend a stop off here.

We visited after it had rained and at first thought that it was closed as the outside chairs were tipped up against the tables, but we are glad that we continued inside. We shared a large plate of mixed tapas for lunch - a good selection of hot and cold morsels in a very nice setting. The red wine wasn't the best that we had during the holiday, but it was OK. The inside is quite dark and poorly lit - probably a good atmosphere for the evening, but very dark for lunchtime. Perfunctory service. The prices was a reasonable 21 euros - cash only.

We popped in here for coffee, en route to Betancuria and were expecting a basic village cafe, but were surprised how sophisticated it was. Those having lunch seemed to have large platefuls. We had already eaten, so sufficed with coffee, sat at one of the windy outside tables, overlooking the village church. The coffee was good, but it was expensive for what it was, compared to most cafes.

Had a late lunch with friends.the starters were good(cheese and grilled peppers),the main dishes were ok but far from good&delicious(meat balls, pork),the owner was frendly and offered some canarian rum and vodka at the end..the restaurant is opened only for lunch time and offeres only 3 starters,7 main dishes.

This review simply relates to the café (rather than restaurant) as we called in just for a coffee. Suffice to say that the coffee was not the cheapest (E2-50), but certainly the best of our 2 weeks in Lanzarote (this being a day trip). The bar area is just superb, so much of interest with sides of ham and goat bells etc. hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant is directly opposite the church of the same name and the village, original island capital, is just gorgeous and timeless.

We stopped at this cafe whilst visiting Betancuria. The cafe is set in stunning gardens with lots of exotic plants and cacti. The food is also great quality, the burgers are fantastic. There is also a good choice of vegetarian options.
