I was there one week ago with my parents, and I can say, if you want to try the real meal from la Palma, try this. I love it a lot: try the "chicharrones", the "queso frito" (fried goat cheese), "papas arrugadas con mojo" (potatoes), " carne de cabra" (goat meat) and the traditional "cerno a la brasa" (grilled pork meat). And for dessert, the "bienmesabe con helado" (with almonds and vanilla ice-cream), of course! and don´t forget the "vino de la casa" (house wine). Next year I will try it again!

I returned to Casa Dimitrio early in January 2014. The day was cooler than when I ate there last January so I sat inside the restaurant and enjoyed the warmth of the log fire. For â¬14.00 I had orange juice, bread, a large pork steak with papas arrugadas and mojo sauce, and a coffee. Another notable feature of my visit was that they were playing some very pleasant Spanish music with a lady singer, not too loud. This was a marked contrast to some places and, indeed, buses on La Palma where they played English music from the dire end of the spectrum.I have to report that the position of Casa Demitrio on the map provided by Tripadvisor at the time of uploading this review is incorrect. The restaurant is actually quite a distance inland of the position shown, by the western end of minor road LP-105. Maybe this incorrect position on Tripadvisor's map accounts for the lack of reviews from other members. Casa Demitrio really is well worth a visit, you know!

I don't understand the fuss about this restaurant. It's recommended everywhere (internet, guidebooks, hotels), so despite mediocre reviews on tripadvisor, we decided to go there for dinner. The building is nice, but that's all I can say. When we entered the restaurant there was nobody else having dinner, just a few locals having a drink at the bar. Even though the waiter saw us arrive, he didn't greet us. It then took quite some time before we received menus, and after that the waiter never returned. He was very busy though chatting with locals and watching football on tv. It felt like they clearly didn't want us there. After about 15-20 minutes of being ignored we decided to leave. Perhaps it's better for lunch, but our dinner experience was bad.

This is a fabulous location. However, the service was terrible. Perhaps they were overwhelmed by a Sunday afternoon influx. Still, November is low season in this part of the world and they should be used to it. A salad of tomatoes and mozzarella was inedible: cold slices of unripe tomatoes and cold flavorless cheese that was definitely not mozzarella. My companion's rock fish soup was bland. Have a beer and go elsewhere for a meal.

The Rompecabos restaurant is located near the natural pools of Charco Azul. It has a terrace with sea views, cafeteria and indoor dining. It has a capacity for 143 guests. His specialty is fresh local fish and their derivatives. We have a varied menu also
Found this place after visiting the (highly recommended) Ron Aldea distillery nearby, and we were very pleased that we did. We had the delicious smoked cheese, fish croquettes, melon and jamon, and squid between four of us, which were all very generous portions, which left no room for postres, alas! Don't be fooled by the waiter's apparent indifference. Try a little Spanish and he becomes a real charmer, making the whole experience a real pleasure.

Fresh Fish and Seafood · Neat Wine Selection Our restaurant is located in one of the most beautiful and quiet places in the island of La Palma, the town of San Andrés. Our terrace, in the plaza of the Church of San Andrés Apostol, stands out for its tranq
Family lunch for four adults. Stopped there while we toured La Palma. Nice restaurant with good service. We ordered salad and garlic prawns and garlic mussels which were very good. Bread look like very old and not fresh. Fishes for three of us were good together with Canary potetos. My wife had beef which was just OK. Coffee was not good. Paid 85 Euro.

Looking for something a little different than a lunch-time sandwich, we chose the Restaurant Las Goteras which is at the La Laguna recreation park, just above Barlovento in the north east of La Palma. My partner and I chose a starter (unusual for us!) of fried cheese with cranberry sauce which was absolutely lovely. For the main course we had the grilled fish with chips and a little salad which was just perfect in quality, quantity, price and service. The restaurant is set in lovely grounds with a large pond opposite with ducks and surrounded by woodland. It's the ideal place to take children for a run around as it's a big area, has a very good playground and is away from traffic.Just to mention that it can be a little chilly on winter days, so you will almost certainly want a light fleece - don't tip up in shorts and T-shirt in winter.

Our restaurant is a family business, located in a beautiful place on the island of La Palma (Spain) in which you will find peace and tranquility. Regard to the kitchen, we are dedicated to offering a range of dishes from the Canary Islands (wrinkled potat
Must admit that we heard about the place in a TV program about La Palma in which it had been warmly recommended, otherwise one might miss it in the small town of San Andres as there are two other restaurants nearby. We definitely didn't regret to stop by, trying some of their specials (La Placita salad and stew made from goat...) with a view at San Andres... Nice! It is great that you found our restaurant thanks to Andrea GrieÃmannâs documentary (WDR) âLa Palma-Zauberinsel im Atlantikâ.Thank you very much for visiting us.

Went here twice whilst on holiday in La Palma. Well worth seeking out. Tried all sorts of dishes, all were really tasty. The waiter was first class. Made a genuine mistake with bill on first visit and didn't hesitate to make it good the second time. Also really good value with the bill coming to about â¬40 including drinks. All round great experience.

My wife and I had lunch here today after a nice hike in Cubo de la Galga. We were hungry and we didn't leave unsatisfied. The chick pea soup, grilled goat cheese and grilled chicken were fantastic. It's no wonder that this restaurant has the first place on TripAdvisor.
