We came for breakfast. There is outdoor seating on a terrace looking out on the river. If it hadnât been raining, it would have been a lovely place to sit. We ate inside. We each had huevos revueltos - mine with jamon y setas and the Mrs. a special order, not on the menu, of patatas y cebollas. Huge portion of eggs. Really delicious. Good coffee too. Cash only.

Cosy bar with a quiet atmosphere where you can enjoy tapas, toasted open sandwiches, salads, and something different (4 options of Mexican food). We've good a good selection of wine and beer. There's Asturian cider. Visit us and enjoy our food or a drink
This place was closed for most of the days we were in town bur when open it was lively with inside and outside seating. Good value tapas style food but cash only. Some families were ordering large mains and sharing them which seemed a good idea given the portion sizes.Hi DMH99,Thanks for visiting El Raitán. We're sorry to hear you didn't coincide with our opening hours, but we were open. We only close in January, February, and sometimes March (depending on when Easter falls). We're open the rest of the year with the following opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 19:00.Saturday and Sunday: 12:00.Tuesday: Closed. In August, we open at 12:00 every day of the week. You can find our opening hours on a sign next to the entrance. If there are changes due to bank holidays or other specific situations, we inform about them with an additional sign on the door and on our Facebook page.On the other hand, we DO accept card payments since the first day we opened. Not sure why you got the impression we didn't. :(We'd love to see you at El Raitán if you ever visit Cabrales again!!!!

If you want to really enjoy local cuisine after 4.00pm and before 8.00 when all the other restaurants are closed this is the place. In fact anytime would be great. Delicious, tasty local dishes, generous portions and pretty good prices. Friendly service and good location.

Had a meal last Wednesday at La Taberna del Pindal and it was very very good. The staff were excellent advising us on what to order, in fact they told us we had actually ordered too much food !It was a busy place which is always a good sign. Our stay in Arenas de Cabrales finished off a week walking in the Picos de Europa and it was the best food we had throughout our stay. Don't hesitate to go, hopefully you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Blown away by the fact that the restaurant was super busy (a good sign) and that the owner offered to give us the first available table and call us when ready. Which she did, 10 minutes later. And then the food was uniformly good but the octopus a la parrilla, out of this world. Served on buttery mashed potatoes, the octopus was well seasoned, tender and had the perfect grilled taste. This dish became the benchmark by which we evaluated every octopus dish after that.

After travelling in the Funicular ( or walking up) you arrive in a different world of peace and tranquility with only the sound of birds and water. You come across a little cluster of buildings , most of which are restaurants or cafes .This looked the most welcome as it was located beside a mountain stream . The staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke English which was help. The menu was very good and not expensive. It was all very well cooked and presented .We will go again even having to pay for the funicular.

A locals hideaway, we only found it when we asked for a recommendation in the cake shop above. Traditional Spanish dishes nicely prepared and served by friendly staff. Huge portions if you can manage them. Menu of the Day incredible value or a la Carter at sensible prices.

La Jueya, a rustic eatery off the main street, offers traditional home cooked Asturian food and at 26 euro for two for a three course dinner with a bottle of wine, offers fabulous value. The menu is in Spanish and English and the owner was very friendly. The Fabes con amasueles (Asturian clam stew) and the rice pudding were excellent, the Rioja less so, but at this price what more can you expect? Great value for those wishing to try wholesome and flavoursome Asturian food.

We are located in the pedestrian area of El Castaneu, in the center of Arenas de Cabrales, the heart of Picos de Europa. We offer a wide variety of dishes, and our speciality is the Asturian cousine: corn chapati, white bean stew (fabada), tender goat and
Ate in here, good local food as the other reviewers say.Returned multiple times. Also found they were happy to do their best so we could watch the football. Hardworking staff.Good selection of beers.Overall my favourite bar in the town.

This a nice restaurant to visit if driving on the north coast of Spain. The barbecued meat is excellent and at lunch time the restaurant was oozing with life. It is a typical local restaurant and wonderful if you are hungry for barbecued meat. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a big parking in front and free wifi!
