I ordered two caprese empanadas and a carbonated water. The empanadas were large and warm to the touch. This was a good start. I bite into the first of the two empanadas and encountered a great deal of cheese (too much in my opinion). The further along in eating the large empanada the less warm and pleasant is the experience. I think much less cheese would have been a plus along with thoroughly warm empanada inside as well as outside. Exceptional value though. I will give Las Cibeles another try.

As you walk in, thinking this is just another roadside type little restaurant, the view instantly transports you. The building is cleverly poised overlooking a pretty, clean beach, and the vibe is peaceful and cool at the same time. I've been there twice, once for lunch last year, this year for a snack; the service is excellent, they greet you cheerfully and several waitresses speak decent English. The menu is appropriate, and they have options for everyone. I like the fact that they will serve you a meal at 4:00 PM or snacks at 5:00; they cater to a vacation crowd who is not watching the clock.

We came to Garciaâs following recommendation of curator of Andes 1972 museum and this was our best parrilla that we had in Montevideo! Baby beef and morcilla were divine! We also had soft drinks and huge tomato and palmitos salad and paid 2000 pesos (56 euros), including 10% tip, which is a great price for the outstanding quality. Definitely not to me missed! Tip: in all Montevideo restaurants, if you are a foreigner and pay by card (credit or debit) you pay only 4% VAT, which means that 18% get returned to your card afterwards. So in reality, this meal cost us 10 euros less (46 euros).

Great restaurant in Montevideo. Excellent customer service. The place is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is wonderful. My asado was very good and the coffee was great. We asked for ice cream as dessert and this was the only weak point of our dinner as the ice cream is of poor quality. Anyway I loved the place located in a really nice area of Montevideo, El Prado. I will certainly go back to this restaurant.

We ate here on our second of four nights in Montevideo as it was very close to our hotel and looked inviting. It is an old neighbourhood bar/bistro, very charismatic and the staff were friendly. The van picked us up from our local friend's house, and we were whisked off to the winery, just about 30 minutes out of town. We were given a great tour by a gentleman who spoke English, Spanish and Portuguese, and he was able weave the three together so that all of us in the group were attended to. After, we had a wonderful 5 course meal, with a wine paired with each, followed by dessert with a little grappa on the side. We were quite thankful for the van for the ride back home. The day was a little pricey, but well worth the cost for a lovely day in mid May.

Friends, my husband and I went here for my birthday far from home. They were very welcoming and cheerful on arrival and stayed that way. The dinner was excellent and my lamb infused with a 12 hour marinade was delicious. I plan to try their approach when I get home.

Yes, the title says it all. I enjoy their outdoor seating. I dined at Terracota twice within one week. Once with friends visiting from the US and the second time alone. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. Food was good both times. I would return simply out of convenience.
