Reviews on South American food in Mar del Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Argentina's top beach resort town, Mar del Plata boasts 10 miles of sandy beaches, from family-oriented La Perla in the north to very popular Bristol in the center and sophisticated Faro in the south. Regardless of the beach, expect very dense crowds, particularly in the summer months. Once an elite enclave, it now attracts visitors of all budgets.

I recommend this restaurant for a good Argentinian-style pizza (thick crust and a lot of cheese) in Mar del Plata. It is well located, offers good value for money and has efficient service. Besides, of course, their delicious pizza! Their "Pedrito" signature flavor is worth a try.

We´re a restaurant that opened its doors in the 80´s, then closed and now re-opened, revived. We could say its a zombie restaurant. Haha
In a group of 8 friends we ordered several different hamburgers. They are the real classic in this place, and they know how to cook them. They were perfect from bread to toppings. Additionally they serve craft beer, I like all three I tried. The place is relatively small and ambient is nice. The downside is it will get full early, and there will be a (long) line to wait. Either go really early, or off season!

We were a party of 7 and we had an amazing dinner. The scalops and the chernia (A kind of bass) can be recomended. The wine list is not big, but has plenty of reasonable options. The cost in USD is low.

My husband and I went her fit dinner, shared a burger and pizza. The burgers was huge and delicious, it was the BBQ special and it was fantastic. Great flavor, crispy bacon and a lot of cheese. Then we also ordered a pizza to share, good thing we listened to the waiter and only got the chica because we both could only have 1 piece each and took the rest home. We arrived at 2030, not to busy, then by 2100 it was packed. Nothing to fancy by the means of decor. But great price for tasty food.

Cannot believe that this place has not appeared on Trip Advisor. Without doubt this is second only to El Cuartito in Buenos Aires. Long established restaurant, always full and great fun. Two ladies sing and play piano Tango music, noisy but quite wonderful!!! They will also chat to the customers who are happy to do so. Pizzas are truly wonderful, understand that one of the ladies was recently on TV, mentioning unusual ingredients such as spinach and rocket. But you MUST try the Fugazetta, with onions and mozarella......bad for your health....but, hey...we only live once!!! It is amaziing!!Certainly one of the best meals I have had in MDP, cannot wait for a return visit.Service was excellent in every respect...whole experience was fabulous!

Nice seafood restaurant, visited by the people of Mar del Plata mostly, you have to book a table or wait.
We had lunch at Sur on a Sunday and were not disappointed. Excellent shrimps breaded with coconut and very good Salmon Sur. We will come back.

We were the first to arrived but we had to wait an hour and half to be served. We told them twice that the kids food should be served as soon itâs possible. But they didnt do it or cared. The Restaurent opens at 8:30pm so u can imagine how hungry the kids were.My sons pasta was very salted and we did mention it to the waiter. My plate was ok but also too much salt. Over all not an experience I care to repeat. Poor for the service.
