We stop here for breakfast based on all TripAdvisor recommendations. The restaurant is clean and nice. You can have English menu but needs to use your finger to communicate with the servers. Very good breakfast with âAmerican priceâ

A must if you are in Peten. Great food and excellent service. The chef is amazing, always working up a storm in the kitchen. The place is visited by locals aswell as travelers from all over the place.
I stopped in for lunch at Cafeteria Riquisimoo during a recent trip to Flores. The lunch special was tacos for Q10. I was pleasantly surprised to get three tacos for the price. The tacos were delicious. I also had a pineapple liquido for Q5. Both the tacos and the drink were bargains, especially for the quality of the food. The place is hidden away in a small location, but well worth finding. The lady who operates the place is very outgoing, although she does not speak English. She also makes cupcakes, birthday cakes and speciality cakes. You should stop by for breakfast or lunch when you are in Flores.

This casual restaurant is set on the gorgeous cobbled streets of Flores. Myself and my hubby arrived in late from Belize in search of some good food! And this place did not disappoint. My husband ordered steak which was juicy and dripping in delicious thick sauce with caramelised onions and mushrooms. It came served with salty fried potatoes and a peppery mayonnaise along with a side salad and marinated peppers. Our server also told us he had Sushi on the specials so I ordered the shrimp sushi and it was perfect. Lots of pickled ginger and wasabi and everything tasted very fresh. The food was a tad slow coming out but the lovely server let us know they were short staffed that night so we really didnât mind, as it was worth the wait!

We offer a different concept in coexistence, a healthy environment, good music and culinary delights. Welcome, we are Mono Rock Cafe
This cafe/bar will meet all your expectations and more! The happy hour is all day until 10 pm and is so cheap! 18 quetzales for 2 drinks (cuba libre, cervesca, gin and tonic, mojito etc etc!) The service is amazing and very genuine! We learnt some common Guatemalan card games from the owner and he even let us choose our own music when we were feeling like curing our home sickness with some New Zealand tunes! Super accomdating and awesome people. All in all the best way to spend an afternoon/evening!

Our double room was incredibly big, luxurious and stylish: two king size beds in two separate sections, with a huge deck overlooking the lake. The grounds are beautiful, especially as most of the jungle has been left untouched. We could watch the birds and monkeys from our "home"!Spending the afternoon by the lake in hammocks was a taste of paradise whilst playing on the inner tubes brought back some childhood memories! The staff was very friendly and attentive to our every needs. We highly recommend this boutique hotel.
Top 10 Central American food in Flores, Peten Department, Guatemala
This little restaurant, accessed by a thin alley/walkway is a hidden gem. We had shrimp and the local whitefish from the lake and both were excellent. It is on the very quiet part of the embarcadero, the street on the embarcadero side is flooded, no noisy or smelly traffic so you have a romantic dinner looking over the lake at night. Don't miss this spot in Flores, you'll be glad you found it.

When I order a vegetarian sandwich, THIS is what I want! Bread slathered with mayo and featuring eggplant, peppers, pickles, carrots, avocado, and a bunch of other great tastes. The thick and spicy fries were great. My friend said his shrimp were way better than expected, and the views and location were great.

In the heart of Flores, Guatemala, Café Arqueológico Yaxha is the place not only to feel the Mayan vibe, but to taste authentic pre-hispanic Mayan cuisine. One of the most affordable places to eat in Flores, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a t
Cafe Yaxha is an adorable restaurant serving delicious food, including a variety of authentic Mayan specialties. I enjoyed lunch at this restaurant during my trip to Guatemala in November 2016. Located in a colourful colonial building, the interior of the cafe was beautiful with colourful murals covering all of the walls. There were multi-coloured Mexican blankets at tablecloths. The restaurant was well-decorated and very cute. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The menu featured a variety of freshly prepared, home-cooked dishes including pastas, curry, stir fry, smoothies, salads, breakfasts, sandwiches and typical Maya specialties. There was plenty of vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetarian curry and Topoxte smoothie which were both tasty! The curry was so creamy and delicious and the smoothie was very refreshing. The cafe had really fast Wi-Fi, which I enjoyed using. The service was not the greatest, and I had to ask for a menu after sitting and waiting for a little awhile and then had to place my order at the bar, with no-one coming to my table to do so. It appeared that there was definitely a lack of staff and the service could use some improvements. Despite the poor service, their food was incredible and I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a delicious meal in Flores.

Chose this restaurant for the outstanding reviews, location/scenery and that they advertised steak. Restaurant was nice, mojitos were excellent but steak meal was average at best. The steak was more of a skirt type steak. Two options for cooking well done and medium well were offered. I choose medium well and was VERY medium well done, tough and not real flavorful. The highlight of the dish was the thick cut fries which were crispy , seasoned well and substantial. Not a lot of choices on the menu.
