No one was eating here but it was most convenient to our hotel. They had nice outdoor seating and we could people watch while we ate fresh empanadas. Our server was not overly friendly, but he was responsive and everything was as expected for a reasonable price. While we ate, two local families entered and headed further inside to sit. Their presence immediately changed the vibe and made the place seem more awake, vibrant, and comfortable. If youâre in the mood for basic heartiness and donât want to spend much, check out Chez Ramon!

The portions are huge and the prices are quite small, compared with the island's standards. Moreover, it's delicious. We ate there quite a few times, trying the completo with green sauce, the ceviche and the tuna empanadas. All amazing! The waitreses are also really nice and helpful. Overall, a great place to eat!

We came to the airport 2 hours early, it was crowded and the cafe at the airport ran out of avocado and couple of the items on the menu. So we decided to walk to this restaurant which is right in front of the airport, the chicken burger and the french fried were just perfect for lunch. We sat on the porch and was able to figure out when we needed to walk back to the airport to board our plan. Very nice indeed.

We ate here 3 times (twice for lunch, once for dinner) and the food was great on 2 occasions. However, we also had issues with getting change back, we paid in cash, local currency and noticed that most people were paying by card, so that would prevent any mistakes happening. The first time the waitress didn't return any change, but it was a small amount (on top of the 10%) 2,000 pesos so we left it. The second time change was given for 30,000 Pesos instead of 40,000, so we had to dispute this and felt we were being taken advantage of. The waitress sorted it out, but it left a sour taste in our mouth. The quesadillas were fantastic (pollo and queso) except burnt on our last visit, as we had waited over 30 minutes for them we scraped the tops off as we were really hungry. It's a nice laid back place and if you pay in cash, make sure you check your change before leaving!

I had lunch here before leaving the island. I had come upon quite a few closed restaurants around noon in Hanga Roa, and this one was open, and about to serve lunch. So I take a seat. And wait. No one brings me a menu, no one comes to ask about my order. I start to get nervous, before I have a plane to catch. Then I see trays coming out of the kitchen. The same served to everyone, including myself. I wish this would have been told/explained to me.That being said - the food was delicious. I had several small portions on my tray: grilled chicken in a sweet sauce, rice, some veggies, an algae salad, a small portion of ceviche, a small miso soup, and a tiny meringue/tropical fruit dessert. I ate everything except the salad (not a fan of algae), and all was very good.I also had a drink with my lunch - I tried the fresh sour, made/flavored with a local herb. Very fresh and lime-y!Nice ambiance - low music, good looking terrasse, centrally located. Good service - other than for the lack of information about the lunch process.

Restaurant Tataku Vave is located somewhat hidden in Caleta Hangu Piko, the small local fisher harbour at the south end of town. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner and has a terrace with a great view of the ocean, especially nice at sunset. Good fish food define its character. The restaurant is open from 11am to 10:30pm and the breezy terrace is just meters from the seashore. Furnishings and decoration provides an easy-going atmosphere. Service is adequate. We came on a late Sunday afternoon in July and the terrace was busy, a good sign. We went for tuna and white fish, accompanied with salad, mashed potatoes, fries and beer. The dishes were well presented. Unfortunately the tuna was uneatable. The white fish, the fries and salad were good.We recommend restaurant Tataku Vava to anyone who seeks OK fish food in a relaxed ambiance and appreciates a great view of the sea.

This is actually a pizza place, but they make huge empanadas using the pizza dough. We had a chicken and tuna empanadas. Both had lots of filling. The restaurant was a counter under a roof with a covered seating area. It isn't fancy, but the food was good and filling. There are no street signs, so just follow the directions to the church. It is across the street from the church.
