well... mixed feelings. The Decor is OK. Just that. And they should take off the huge TV hanging on the wall. The service is fin and professional if a bit slow at times. We had four starters that were not totally bad, but none of them surprised us and there are other Peruvian restaurant in Asunción where you can find better. The main were unquestionably good, particularly the grilled octopus. It's quite expensive for what you get, though.

Paraguayan cuisine in modern days with local products, flexible with the seasons and free in creativity.
We went on a evening at 9.30 pm. Absolutely empty. Not a single soul!!half the items on the menu were NOT available - henceforth we left immediately.I am not going back!Hello Sally We lament your poor expirience at the restaurant and would like to know more about your visit to work on the problem. When exactly were you here? We have very attentive staff who are quick to spot foreigners, however no one recalls any visit similar to yours.

It's not only about the view, although it is spectacular at night, but also about excellent service and very good food, certainly among the very best in Asunción. Try the tomahawk... Some hesitations on the wine list, as my first two choices were over, but overall a great experience. The decor is classy, elegant, simple and very pleasant. Unmissable if you visit Asunción as we did recently.

A bit over the top in décor and attempted attitude but good Italian. Pretty place, good food, good service. At first I was turned off by all the mirrors and American Express ads, but liked the waiter and food. Good choice as it is across the street from the Sheraton and a few blocks from other major hotels. For a city not used to visitors, they are very accustomed to visitors and offer a good option

Casual local Restaurant that serves paraguayan food and natural juices. The menu is extensive but simple. It is the perfect choice for those who are looking for a good price-value meal.
I wanted traditional Paraguay food. I ordered a sample platter. I got four different things--all fried. They tasted fine, but it sort of felt like fast food food. It pretty much tasted all the same. It was a good experience, but not a place I'll rave about or probably go back to before I leave. Also, I didn't know you had to use the call button to get the waitress to come over--I sat that for 45 minutes waiting for my check. Use the buttons!

A classic Asunción bar with restaurant seating towards the back. Comfortable and homey (but ceiling in rear portion of the restuarant is so low!). Menu is a bit tired, so many budget restaurants do these same basic dishes, often much better. The grilled suribi was well prepared but potatoes were obviously from a frozen institutional package and overall dish was nothing special. Would it hurt to add a bit of salad or pleasing garnish? Bottom line: stop by for a drink, sit near the big windows in the front near the bar (see photos), and soak in the historical ambience. But avoid the food in the back.

Reasonably varied buffet, with emphasys in inexpensive, bulky food. The meat is not as good as in most steakhouses in town. Service of the best cuts is available only after repetitive and insistent offers of lower quality ones. Higiene is not great.

Brazilian style steak house. Telephone 595-021608596
This Brazilian-style restaurant has a surprisingly good assortment of salads and other dishes (such as pastas, fish, sushi, etc) on top of the meat constantly served at your table. You may well come here even if you're not a meat-lover - there is plenty of other nice food to indulge in. Once finished, there is a variety of desserts (including cheese) to choose from. Service is friendly and prices are comfortable.

Cocina Clandestina invites you to enjoy nacional contemporary dishes, a concept around paraguayan ingredients and flavors.
Try the 8 Course Paraguayan Food Sampling. Order a bottle of wine and enjoy going through every meal with explanations of ingredients done by the waiters. Nice ambience.

After three month we have been dining again at Tierra Colorada. Both our dishes were overwhelming. One of them being "lamb 16 hours cooked softly" Rodolfo Angenscheidt is to be congratulated.Service as good as ever.By 10:30 pm the place was packed and a large queue outside.
