Potturinn og pannan (The Pot & pan, since 1982) is a family friendly restaurant, popular for it's relaxed atmosphere and delicious cooking, offered at reasonable prices. We offer the modern traditional Icelandic Cuisine, based on our cultural heritage and
My friend and I stumbled across this restaurant for dinner on our way to another restaurant, but we stopped here instead. It was a cosy atmosphere with nice staff. The food menu excited me and I eventually settled on the seafood gratin, which was lovely. I felt the prices were reasonable for dinner in Iceland. We liked it so much we went back the next night. We then went there for buffet lunch after reading the positive reviews on here, but personally I would give it a higher rating for their dinner menu than their lunch buffet. I would recommend this restaurant and would happily go back there should I return to Iceland.

We like to think of Salka Valka as an extension of our own home-kitchen and living room. Experience a uniquely charming, soulful and welcoming atmosphere over hot & cold food, sandwiches & snacks, coffee drinks, organic teas & organic juices, wine & beer.
We stopped in to warm up and had a really tasty and very satisfying bowl of fish soup with great bread and 3-4 shots of the countryâs Brennivin. The server was incredibly friendly. Clean place, awesome map of the world on the wall which became the top of our conversation (future trips). What a little gem of a place!!

Ridiculously pricey for average food. The waiter was quite friendly but very unprofessional. The music and the surroundings could do with a modernization. Seems like the customers are mainly unlucky tourists or lower class people aged 60+ Will not be visiting again.

The serene and calm atmosphere can be felt the moment you step inside. Itâs very peaceful there, and the food served are all of high quality. The warmth of the staff is congruent with the nourishing food. Check out daily specials. Highly recommended!

Icelandic traditional food made as street food. In the morning (8-11AM) Breakfast & Coffee, all you can eat - 2200kr. Starting at 11:30 - 23:00 in the night: Traditional Icelandic Fishermans Favourite with bread on the side. Traditional Icelandic Shellfis
We really did not get this place. It gets great reviews and looks good from the outside, but inside most of the tables (on the left) sit in a draught from the door every time it is opened (we recommend sitting up at the front counter furthest to the right as you enter which is about as draught free as it gets). The food is average and overpriced (even for Iceland), and served on plastic coated paper plates with plastic cutlery. So presumably not recyclable (apologies to the restaurant if we are missing something here) and not that nice to use. There are three dishes on the menu - two soups and one unpleasant looking fish and potato stew. The best thing we had was a Douro red wine. Sorry to say we would only give one star.Hello richardemail Thank you for taking the time to review Icelandic Street Food! We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience with us. We appreciate the feedback and are always looking to improve.

A tiny, family owned soup restaurant in the heart of Reykjavik. We are proud to be the first and the original "soup in bread" restaurant in Iceland. We've been serving soups in bread for over 20 years amd we love it. Please note: We do not take reservatio
Serves beer & fabulous soups in bread. This evenings choices were a veggie soup with coriander and the meat one had beef, lamb and vegetables. We tried the meat one which was delicious- more a stew than soup but filling & great value at 1950isk. The IPA beer was crisp and citrusy as it should be.

Esjustofa Cafe offers good coffee, soups and food. We offer an option for exclusive openings and catering for groups and meetings.
Great coffee, especially after a hike in the cold. The girls working there were very friendly and brought our coffee outside to us. We had apple pie with our coffee for $9.00, which was ridiculous, but not surprising for Iceland. It wasn't anything to brag about. I recommend skipping the food and bringing your own If you want to use their water closet, you'll have to purchase something, which I highly recommend doing, because the outhouse is positively disgusting.

Iceland is an expensive country and food is very frightfully expensive. If you are living at the Hilton Hotel this is a great place to eat. By Iceland standards, it is moderately priced and the food is wholesome and excellent. The price includes the main meal with vegetables, soup, salad, bread and coffee. Even though we did not go back for seconds, as the meal was very filling, we were told we could if we wanted to.The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Really lovely tasty food. Only around 8 dishes on the menu but all cooked perfectly. Great price. Always full which is expected. Quick service and lovely polite staff and I loved that they leave all sorts of spices and sauces out to help yourself and add to your food. As a spice lover this was inspired. Highly recommend

Laug-As was suggested to me for my motorcycle tour group of 10 people for our 'Welcome Dinner'. With a great reputation for excellent food, I wanted the group to experience more than just one entrée. Chef Johann and the owner accommodated us perfectly. Guests tried things they probably never would have if not for the Family-style method of being served. So the lamb, the Beef, the Fish were all fantastic... and the special desert was also a topper.
