Hotel Kotnik is a family-run hotel with a long, 30 - year tradition. It is located in the center of Kranjska Gora, know for its excellent restaurant and the oldest pizzeria PINO. Very kind employees and owners are a guarantee for the guests well - being a
Crust is too thick, like NY-style, and chewy; mushrooms were from a can; olives were whole with pits; sauce was tasteless and tart, as if no seasoning was added; spicy oil wasnât spicy and was made with bland olive oil and crushed red pepper flakes instead of whole spicy peppers. Cheap olive oil and vinegar along with salt and pepper in shakers (not grinders) and Tabasco sauce were offered as condiments on each table. Fries were typical of European fast food joints - no flavor, full of grease. However, the servers were kind and full of personality. Try the pear brandy produced by Slovenian monks.
Most cottages up in the hills/mountains of Slovenia offer excellent home made food (usually even better than what you can get down in the cities). There are exceptions to the rule ofc, but Brunarica pri Ingotu is excellent.I highly recommend it. You will have to burn some calories to get up there tho.

Take a journey into culinary and cultural adventures. Ease your thirst with natural juices, drink a hot herbal tea or treat yourself with a sip of homemade spirit. A bowl of tasty stew made over an open fire cauldron will certainly do you well. Those with
Sice we stay a lot in Gozd Martuljek, we are going there really often with my family. Through the summer is the cottage opened constantly, in off-peak season they are open mostley on weekends. You can reach it in different ways. The shortest and easiest one is if you pass the abendond ski-slope in Gozd Martuljek with car on a local road. You can drive right to the end of the road, where you can park a car and then follow the signpost. From there it is an easy 15 minutes walk.Others are from the main road, where you can leave a car, or drive again 5 minutes to the end of the road and leave a car there. Then you have a walking path past the 1. Martuljek waterfall or through the woods. We made a circle on one way up through the woods and on the way down pass the waterfall, which is another the most beautiful attraction in Gozd Martuljek. There is a lot of signpost, so you can't miss it. From down to the Ingo's cottage there is around 45 minutes walk. The cottage lies on very beautiful grass livada, with mountin Å pik range at one side and others around. There are also cows grazing around. 5 minutes from the cottage there is a small church, where you can attend the mass on Sundays. The cottage offers very good local food, cooked outside in an old way. We tryed a bowl of tasty stew made over an open fire cauldron, which we found it very tasty. For a dessert we had pehtranova potica (an aromatic herb cake) and apple strudel, together with a drink from home made juices from elder, pine springs or blueberries or hot herbal tea. There is also a nice wooden fountain with cold mountain water. There you can also "rent" a nice dog Aron, who can take you the the 2. Martuljek waterfall, which is around 45 minutes from the cottage. So all in all we had a really nice trip to the beautiful mountains of Gozd Martuljek.

Restaurant & pizzeria Bor is situated at the foothills of Kranjska Gora ski slopes. It offers traditional Slovenian food as well as ordinary a la carte dishes. Itâs also the right choice when you would like to treat your business partner or your family!
This place was really crowded, so I really had my hopes up. We waited a long time before they took our order, and we waited for 45 minutes for food, so the service was slow, but I guess because of so many people. So I ordered polenta with mushrooms, topped with cheese...the mushroom souce didn't have any flavor and polenta that was topped with cheese was too salty, so this dish was not that good and was definatly not worth the money. My friend ordered some ribs and were ok, but definatly not the best. However I did really enjoy the dessert - pancakes with nutella :)

We came for a lunch and stayed there till the evening. It's a very nice place, where you can truly experience Slovenian food and the peaceful environment. Waiters are very kind and helpful, food is beyond amazing, they even have fresh home-made lemonades with different taste. The view of the mountains are just a cherry on top of everything.

We simply love this place. Great flavours, cheap prices, home/local/genuine food. We love the soups, the pasta, meat, salads, desserts. Everything is just fantastic. We particularly love their mushroom soup and the cheese and walnut Å¡truklji as dessert. This place is a must if you are in Kranjska Gora!

Taste the culinary diversity of the Restaurant Lipa where the dishes are sent out of the kitchen from the ladle of our chef. As many people as many flavors in our restaurant certainly means that we know how to devote to the guests who want to be pampered
We liked this restaurant so much that we ate there every night of our stay In Kranjska Gora. The pizzas made the kids happy (the one with sausage and onion was delicious). The local dishes made the adults happy. The free blueberry liquor at the end of each meal was a nice touch. While there were tourists eating here, there were also locals too who seemed liked regulars (we took that as a good sign). Nice outdoor eating space. Reasonable prices. All and all this was one of our favorite dinner spots on our 20 day trip through Europe

Stayed there for 4 days. The cuisine is homemade, daily fresh with regional ingridients. Not to expensive but also not cheap. People are nice and professional but locals :-) so they understand fun. My experience was great can only recommend if you are planning a trip to Kranjska Gora or Planica (hiking, skiing, biking, ....)

Stop for a late lunch. Chose 3 courses instead of 6. The pumpkin soup was outstanding with orange oil flavored. The Veal steak was juicy but the duck leg too salty. Itâs fine as they looked into it seriously after we commented that. And the chef was very serious about his food as the bell hurrying the waiter to deliver food to the table was frequently heard.

Had dinner here one of the nights we stayed in Kranjska Gora. Absolutely great place to eat. Amazing prices given the quality of the food and outstanding service. It is in the Korona casino, and on weekends you will probably need to book, but do get yourself here at least once in your stay.Dear Mishy77!Thank you for choosing restaurant Montana and for sharing your experience.
