Ankaran (Slovene pronunciation: [aŋkaˈɾáːn]; Italian: Ancarano [aŋkaˈraːno]) is a town in the Municipality of Ankaran, located near the border with Italy, in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is less than 5 km from the Italian town of Muggia near Trieste, about 2.5 km from the Italian-Slovenian border, 6.5 km from Koper, and 33 km from the nearest Croatian town, Buje. In the entire municipality both Slovenian and Italian are official languages.

We came here in a lunch time and there were only a few people inside. Owner of the pizzeria was very friendly and invited us to come inside, due to hot sunny day. We ordered 2 big pizzas, one escalope and 2 salads. Cooking time was short (15-20min) and food was very tasty. Service was good and staff, despite being young, are very friendly and skillful, especially one beautiful bespectacled girl, who made her job just awesome...

First of all, the wine is superb. You must try his Belo and his Malvazija. This guy knows his craft. It's orange and orange is what wine is all about nowadays if trendy and knowledgable is your way. The wine is macerated and aged in barrels. Heavy, full of mixed aromas, put simply, awesome. Food is fantastic. Don't expect stakes and chips. The chef really is superb and innovative. Food is very authentic and original. It's a slow food place. Take your time and enjoy. The setting is overlooking the most northern part of the Adriatic sea; Koper, Izola and Piran and on a sunny day simply takes your breath away. Highly recommended.

We were on a TUI cruise so only had a few hours in Koper so we decided to stop for some lunch and a beer. We found this little restaurant whilst walking towards the old harbour. It is quaint interior with a few tables outside! The staff were great and the food was lovely. I had a beef dish and my partner had a cauliflower and leek pie. Neither of the dishes were how we imagined they would be they were better and delicious! Would definitely go again!

First - the menu is only in two languages SLO and ITA, but it is easy to understand, all dishes by 1 Kilo, it is regulary food without something special. For family with 4 people two Kilos is to much. Try calamari with chips, the other dishes below expectation.

My husband an I have visited the place three times so far, and every time we went the food was excellent. Family-run, with great sense for customer service, I recommend this place not just to plant-based enthusiasts, but also to people who simply like good, homemade food. Crostatas, potato and pasta salads, soups, and main courses like pancakes with spinach filling that change daily - we tried most of it, and all was delicious. The "worst" thing about the place is that it got pastries you can*t say no to. Prices are moderate. Will be visiting soon again.Thank you very much for your review. We are looking forward to your next visit.

Itâs on the way to the center, near the seaside. We had fried fish, chips. All was very delicious and simple. Itâs a self service place. Drinks were ice cold. The bread was good. There are several tables outside. The price was reasonable with the quality

I have been there few times, eating sea food, pasta and pizzas. It never was a miss, they always prepared tasty food. Would recommend to anyone and hopefully come back myself soon!

We were there with the family for dinner and were absolutely stunned how great the food was. We had a fantasic 4 course dinner and enjoyed every single dish we got. The owner is a lovely person who explains everything in details, knows and loves cooking and you notice immediately that this is his passion. Excellent food and excellent service in a relaxing atmosphere with great view. We were happy that we found this little gem. Reservation is recommended as the restaurant is not that big (although we were lucky and got a seat with coming in like that, but we arrived pretty early).

We had a family lunch here in January 2019 and to be honest it was great. We waited a little bit longer than I expected but when the appetizers arrived the things were improved. All the food was very good, the meat was cooked perfectly and the price was very low.
