Sverdlovsk Oblast (Свердло́вская о́бласть, Sverdlovskaya oblast) is a federal subject (an oblast) of Russia located in the Ural Federal District. Its administrative center is the city of Yekaterinburg, formerly known as Sverdlovsk. Its population is 4,297,747 (according to the 2010 Census).

Fantastic tour of Ekaterinburg! I highly recommend booking Alexandra and this tour. Alexandra is a knowledgeable guide who brought the history of the city to life and made great recommendations for the rest of my stay in the city. It is a great way to see the city sites while trying some delicious local food and drinks. She also made great recommendations for the rest of my stay so I was very busy while there and wish I had more time!

4-hour tour in the city center, incl.: major attractions of Yekaterinburg, dumplings cooking workshop, lunch and dive-in bar in a haunted mansion where you'll taste home-made berry liqueurs ("nalivka"), craft beer, cheese and meat snacks. It is your chance to spot the main attractions and to taste traditional Russian food made by yourself and home-made Russian drinks. An informative walking tour along such sights as the City Dam, the Iset River, the Church on the Blood continues in a cosy restaurant with authentic Russian atmosphere where you'll be taught how to make dumplings - easy-to-make and truly delicious local food. After a hearty lunch, we'll have a small walk to Pils Live Bar. On our way, we'll see some unique attractions, like Vysotski scyscraper and monument to Invisible man. This tour covers significant spots of Romanov dinasty and a geographical monument standing in between Europe and Asia, so effectively within four hours. My family a group of 3 enjoyed comfortably without stress at all. Our guide Alexandra was greatly knowledgeable with perfect command of English. And the friendly car driver brought us to those spots with spacious Toyota car. Ekaterinburg is an industrial city, but we enjoyed fully as tourist thanks to Alexandra. It is a must in Ekaterinburg and highly recommended!!

We booked for the Swan Lake ballet on 25 December 2019, with travel date on 24 May 2020, through U Visit Russia. . Due to the Covit19 pandemic we were unable to visit Russia nor attend the ballet. Two tickets were purchased for US$465.50. U Visit Russia was advised of not being able to attend and agreed to pay a full refund but there would be a delay due to the number of cancellations. After some time no refund was forthcoming and U Visit Russia was again contacted by email and we were advised that due to the volume of cancellations the refund would be credited to our credit card within 9 weeks. Nothing and again they were contacted by email but no response was ever received. No refund was ever received. Nothing!! The lesson is to beware of ever dealing with this company.
You will visit the obelisk between Europe and Asia. It is one of the most famous and frequently visited places of the Ural region. You can put one foot in Europe and another one in Asia and take some unique photographs. On the way back to the city you´ll visit Shirokorechensky Memorial with graves of Russian and German WWII soldiers.
