Holy Family Cathedral is the mother and head church for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulsa in Eastern Oklahoma. It is a beautiful neo-Gothic edifice built in 1914, and recently renovated. Masses are celebrated everyday either in the Cathedral Church or the Chapel of Peace located in the basement. Our Whole Family Faith Formation Program, called Wednesdays at the Cathedral, begins each Wednesday with an affordable dinner at 5:30pm and then the different programs for youth, teens, and adults run from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Tours of the church are available upon advanced request.
The Cathedral is my parish and I am there at lest three times per week. The building itself exudes an atmosphere of spirituality and prayer.

Art-deco National Historic Landmark.
Knowing Tulsa's reputation for its Art Deco architecture, we wanted to see a few examples. This is one of the best! A church built around 1930, it is a stunning building made of Indiana limestone and Minnesota granite. Walk around and look up!! Bring your binoculars or camera telephoto lens so that you can see the top of the towers and the beautiful details of the statuary. Unfortunately due to COVID, we were unable to go inside the church building.

Mabee Center's 105,000 square-foot facility is designed to meet any capacity, accommodating events scaled from 1,274 to 11,300 seats. Whether the event calls for an intimate theater configuration, or an amplified round, the stage has been set to entertain a full house.
Mabee center is in the heart of the oral roberts campus property. The design is something to see. Not many building like it and you can find it easy as the oral roberts towers can be seen from all over tulsa. Its a convention center so you never know what may be going on here.

We attended the Backstreet Boys concert at this venue. The venue itself is nice and big with plenty of space. Concessions are distributed all around so you're close to food and drinks no matter where you're sitting. The venue doesn't have it's own parking lot so if you're coming from out of town, you're forced to pay for parking in a private parking lot and, depending on how close you want to be to the venue, you'll be paying anywhere from $5 to $40 for parking. Fortunately for us, we stayed at a hotel that offered a complimentary shuttle to the center. The only complaint I have is that the seats aren't very big so you're stuck rubbing elbows with your neighbors.

On a girls weekend we flew into Tulsa and stopped by on our way to Pawhuska for some great photos and a history lesson on the famous Route 66. We had a lot of fun snapping photos and admiring the details in this beautiful statue.

Everytime I have gone to a baseball game at OneOK field I have had a great time. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly, and it's fireworks that are displayed periodically are fantastic. Such a great place for a family outing.

It was bitterly cold when we visited yesterday, but well worth making the effort. The Buddhas are stunning, each one a piece of art in its own right. The place has a calm feeling, is well maintained and so peaceful you forget you are close to the main road. Fascinating!

The Cave House in a landmark in Tulsa. It was built in 1924, as a Chicken Restaurant. Built during prohibition, it was a place you could quench your thirst! It not only has quirky architecture, but it probably best known for its stories, full of interesting and sometimes amusing information. It is a great date, or family adventure, and as the owner I love to share it! It is best to call, or message ahead, as I do not have regular hours. Due to scheduling for private tours and groups, and because travelers request all days and times, I try to schedule according to requests as best as I can. The cost is $10.00 for ages 16yr. and older. Ages 15yr and younger are $5.00.
My wife and I couldn't believe the Rich American History behind such a seemingly small roadside attraction! Linda's warm and welcoming presence took us offguard for her vast knowledge of Oklahoma and the Prohibition Era. Everything about this attraction completly blew us out of the water! In an hour, Linda took us into a storybook of detail about the crazy owners of the cave house over the years dating back to when it was a speakeasy for bootleggers. This place is a must book tour for visiting Tulsa!
