Had the best time at Tibbiwell Alpacas today and was a perfect birthday treat! Sandie and her son Ben welcomed us and we met the alpacas, heard all about their history and got to know their personalities (each alpaca displayed a truly unique personality which was so fun to witness!). I had the pleasure of being paired with Apollo, a very lively and greedy alpaca who was leading the pack (and me!!) around the fields - whilst stealing handfulls of everyone else's food. We had lots of alpaca cuddles and Sandie was great at taking lots of individual and family photos for us. Can honestly say we have not had this much fun as a family for years - so friendly and such an amazing experience!!! We will be returning no doubt :)

Woodchester Mansion is a 19th Century Victorian Gothic masterpiece mysteriously abandoned mid-construction in 1873. Hidden in a secluded Cotswold Valley, it is untouched by time and the modern world. This unique Grade 1 Listed Building has been saved from dereliction but it will never be completed, enabling visitors to view the secret building techniques of medieval Gothic builders. Special events are held throughout the year, but do check our open days and times before visiting.
An amazing looking mansion - Victorian Gothic. It is NOT a ruin but is a building site. The owners did not quite finish it, which makes for a fascinating story. That was explained to us during a 45 mins tour inside and out - fantastically explained by a local volunteer who had grown up nearby. We walked down and back from the car park - under 30 mins round trip through a lovely valley and even saw a calf being tended to soon after being born, which was an unusual bonus. Beyond the house is a lovely lake that we will go to next time - there definitely WILL be a next time.

We visited on a sunny day. The grounds were lovely in the sunshine and walking through all the yew trees was fun. The interior of the church wasn't particularly spectacular but the people were smiley as we went in (I think they had just finished a service).

Great views after a long climb from Painswick but well worth it. The views are magnificent on a clear day you can see across Gloucester and see Wales which is over 100km.

Gallery Pangolin is a 'must-see' on any tour of the Cotswolds. Tucked away in the village of Chalford on the slopes of the escarpment is one of Gloucestershire's best-kept secrets. On what was once a Victorian industrial site at the heart of the Golden Valley, Gallery Pangolin is one of the few galleries to specialise in sculpture and related drawings and is open to visitors 6 days a week. We are located on Chalford Industrial Estate on the A419 in between Stroud and Cirencester.

Stand on the edge of Selsley Common and on a clear day you can see from Dunkerry Beacon in North Devon to the Malverns. See the river Severn shining in the sun at High tide and the expanse of the sand banks at low tide. Look down in the beautiful farmed landscape of the Severn Vale, and behind you the magnificence of Rodborough Common, over Stroud and across the Slad valley. Watch the skylarks as ending and in the early spring enjoy wild cowslips and tiny early purple Orchids. When the wind is in the right direction there may be people flying model aircraft and para Gliding. Grab an ice cream from Winstones ice cream van. Free parking on the edge of th B4066 road to Uley. No toilets, go to Sainsbury's ! Dogs allowed on and off lead. Be careful of grazing cattle during the summer months and don't get too close to them
