Ralang Monastery- One of the premium monastery in Sikkim belongs to the Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism.Though the one we visited is a new one which is in no doubt one of the most beautiful monastery in terms of architecture, wall Paintings etc. The drive through the beautiful countryside of Ralang Village is about 06 kms away from Ravangla town in South Sikkim. Our visit to this monastery was though not in our plan but while we were in Ravangla, we simply couldn't ignore this beautiful and important monastery so in this regard, we reached and there is nothing to regret as we could see one of the most beautiful wall paintings around...all well designed and marvelously touched and finished. While in South Sikkim, Ralang Monastery is a must visit place.

Samdruptse Hill is one of the best places to be in Sikkim, infact all of Sikkim is the best place to be. I loved Sikkim and its natural beauty. A lot of Buddha Statues can be found in Sikkim, for exploring more such Buddha Statues in Sikkim, you can simply read the blog - thestonestudio.in It contains all the information regarding major Buddha Statues in Sikkim. The world's largest statue (at 118 feet) of the Buddhist Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, the patron saint of Sikkim, is on the Samdruptse hill (The Wish Fulfilling hill) opposite Namchi. It was completed in February 2004. It is also said that the Samdruptse hill is actually a dormant volcano. Myths say that the Buddhist monks have been going on top of the hill and offering prayers to the volcano to keep it calm. There is also a Rock Garden a few kilometers from the town on the way to Samdruptse. The area has views of Mt. Kanchendzonga, aka Mt. Kangchenjunga, the world's third highest peak.

We approached this place through the stairs beside Hotel Clouds Inn on Legship-Ravangla Road. There are other approaches as well. Be careful about taking this approach as there are more than 500 stairs cut in to the slope of the hill through a dense forest. For adventure lovers, this route is suggested. Do not try with kids, elders or people with knee problems. The downhill is relatively easy though some place the stairs are slippery and height of stairs are bit on the higher side. Carry plenty of water and very less weight in terms of bags / backpacks etc. The uphill will try your stamina. Be careful of leeches, other insects. There might be snakes as well. At the end of the stairs, you'll find the gompa. It is situated in a clearing with hills rising high behind. There is a small lake. The entire area is surrounded with prayer flags. Don't expect to see any human soul, a stray dog might be your only companion. Nevertheless, maintain the sanctity of the place. The view once you reach the gompa is amazing. The first thing you realize is peace, tranquility and humility. A moment of silence will enable you to hear chirping of birds in the surrounding forest. We loved it.....good place for photography

A natural thrill...Tarey bhir in Sadam, South Sikkim near Namchi is one beautiful place to be at. About 10000 feets in length, the ridge offers a magnificent views of the surrounding. The view point at the edge of the ridge offers a beautiful and panoramic view of the confluence of River Teesta and River Rangeet, the two major rivers of Sikkim. The point also offers the views of Kalimpong town in West Bengal and other adjacent parts. we had a wonderful couple of hours going down the ridge and coming up...its a good place for a nature lover who loves to be in a beautiful and peaceful natures beauty.

Chadham of East Sikkim is a miniature of Actual Char Dham & 12 Jyotirlingas of India. its truly an amazing experience. So beautifully maintained that, its gives a WOW feeling. The big statue of Lord Shiva can be seen many miles away from the complex. Basically it is a huge Hindu pilgrimage area on the top of the hill. The four sacred dham of India i.e. Badrinath dham, Jagannathdham, Darikadham and Rameshwaram are being replicated here and one can have the same feeling of traveling all these four places while just traveling in to Chardham of Sikkim.
