As dark as the darkest night, a pair of glowing eyes that penetrate deep into the recess of your heart, a gloriously sparkling Third Eye that perceives a dimension beyond the physical, graciously giving arms that bestow infinite Grace to all in need, a pure gold sari that reflects her grandeur – Linga Bhairavi is the most exuberant expression of the Divine Feminine residing at Salem.

Worth visiting this beautiful place in the midst of sylvian surrounding. A huge statue of Ramanujar, about 30 feet tall, is installed inside a large buiding in the midst of pristine nature. Shrines of various forms of God Vishnu are located around the above building. The place will be open up to 7 pm and is located about 15 kms from Salem town and reachable by road. No public transport facility is available.

Ancient temple of Lord Shiva in a small town Tharamangalam about 23 kms from Salem city. The shrine has beautiful and intricate sculptures on single-rock pillars and panels. The rotating circular structure lined with parrots in the roof near the main shrine is the star attraction besides the depiction of Rama with bow in one pillar and Vali and Sugriv confronting posture in another pillar reminds the famous battle scene in Ramayana. Thanks to the Temple administration for good upkeep of the temple.

One of the best drives we have been on.. We did not expect much from the small hill station but this beautiful route is just out of the world. The road intertwining through the Shevaroy Hills is lined on both sides with the Silver Oak and white Eucalyptus trees eclipsing the warm sun keep the breeze cool. The distinct view here is that these trees are covered with pepper climbers that make the ambience of these forests very surreal. As we drove around on the winding road, there were many spots where we just could not stop ourselves from taking a break and engulf in the serene environment. The road runs through large coffee plantations making the entire region embrace a lush dark green demeanor unike light green tea plantations.

Kanja Malai Siddhar Temple is present in a tranquil place with surrounding hillocks and marvelous greenery. If one is religiously attuned and admirer of our Great 18 Siddhas, Kanja Malai is a must go. Here Siddhar Kalanginathar guru of Boga Sitthar worshipped. One could feel Divine presence of Siddhar Swami upon meditating here. On top of a small Hillock which is accessible by both walk and by road, Lord Muruga (Karthikeya) is present. Very sacred place. When you visit Salem and have 3/4 hours at your hand, this place is a must go

This is a very famous temple. Thi maasam and Adi maasam is celebrated in a grand manner. All the priests are very kind and it has a huge ground where all the town people join together and keep Pongal with relatives and family. In my childhood days I used to go with my Grandfather and Brother weekly twice. Best Temple. Now renovation is going on
