Mpumalanga /əmˌpuːməˈlɑːŋɡə/ ( listen) is a province of South Africa. The name means "east", or literally "the place where the sun rises" in the Swazi, Xhosa, Ndebele and Zulu languages. Mpumalanga lies in eastern South Africa, bordering Swaziland and Mozambique. It constitutes 6.5% of South Africa's land area. It shares borders with the South African provinces of Limpopo to the north, Gauteng to the west, the Free State to the southwest, and KwaZulu-Natal to the south. The capital is Nelspruit.

If you are in Mpumalanga this is really worth the effort. Kaapsche Hoop is a beautiful town and the wild horses make the experience even better. Take a hike up to the stone circles for breathtaking views. We did not use a guide as this is an easy hike and you can take your time at the stones. We were accompanied by the horses the whole way. The theories about the stones are wild (I'm not a believer in alien creation theories), but when you are there, the scenery is really magical and you can appreciate the historic value of the site. Don't forget to grab a bite to eat at Kaapsche Hoop after your hike.

Every time we travel through Waterval Boven I am reminded of the guided tour we took a few years ago to the museum and actual circles. South Africa has a hidden, rich and diverse history; it is a pity so few South Africans are aware of it. Hidden behind the rolling hills in this area are the ancient remains of an intelligent civilization, a history seldom celebrated. Do the tour and learn about the ancient Adam's calendar and the people who built so many circular stone structures.

The views were out of this world, particularly in the northern part of the Drakensberg escarpment with the amazing geological features of Bourke's luck potholes situated in the confluence of the Blyde and Treur rivers. We weren't so lucky with the God's window because of the low clouds making it impossible to see anything.

They tell you that this is a living village, but I have my doubts. Nevertheless the illusion is well done and you get a nice into to Swati life and the dancing/singing show thereafter is fabulous. We also ate lunch at the village and it was very good indeed.

Definately a must see. From the Lisbon-, MacMac or Berlin Falls to God's Window, the Pinnacles, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Pilgrims Rest and, of course, the amazing Blyde River Canyon with the Three Rondavels. Spend at least 2 nights in this area. There is lots to see

The Graskop Gorge lift Company (Pty) Ltd is the latest and most innovative tourism development in South Africa. Situated in Graskop Mpumalanga, along the Panorama Route, made famous for its natural beauty and world renowned viewing attractions such as God’s Window and the Blyde River Canyon. The Graskop Gorge Lift Company is your passage into the heart of one of Mpumalanga’s last forested wonderlands. Surrounded by towering cliffs cut back over time by the Motitsi river where its waters plummet 70m into the gorge below forming a natural barrier to all, except for the most adventurous. Your journey begins as you drop off the grassy cliff top plateau, in a custom designed 26 passenger viewing elevator, down along the cliff face descending into the cool mountain forest below. An extensive network of elevated walkways, suspension bridges and interactive exhibits will lead you along the forest trail, across the stream, keeping one engaged in this natural and pristine environment.
This is a great place to visit. A lot of work went into making this a world class, educational and relaxing experience of the forest and gorge floor. Well trained and friendly staff operating a well maintain and world class facility. We will most definitely recommend this place and return with family and friends.

This is a beautiful place to visit. I have been before and wanted to return. Pick a cooler day or cooler hours of the day as it is a up hill walk to get to it. Paths and steps have been put in for an easier access. Just take your time and make it all the way to the top for the most beautiful scenes. At the bottom there are locals selling curio, they are friendly and welcoming, no pressure sales are happening here. They are very grateful for any purchases you make and they give good prices.

A cool walk through the beautiful trees and stunning surrounds to the waterfall is amazing. The waterfall is beautiful. So calming, we truly have a beautiful country. Entrance fee is reasonable and there is safe parking. Bit of a drive though as the road is gravel and a bit bumpy. The tar road had many potholes. But definitely worth the drive. Ice cream available at the shop that has neat and clean seating.
