Odakamori Observatory

Reviewed By Kookie_monsterz - Hong Kong, China

Great hike up to the observatory, views at the top showed the whole area. Note that there are two entrances of the trail, one near the history museum and one next to scenic cruise building. If you accidentally go to the wrong one on the way down, can walk along the seaside promenade back to your car.

Rinnoji Temple

Reviewed By Brad_Herbert - Sydney, Australia

Rinno-ji temple and the Japanese Garden is certainly a gem in Sendai. I took the train from Sendai station three stops to Kitayama station and then walked the last 15 minutes. The temple is very tranquil and serene. For 300 yen you can go into the Japanese garden which is a must. The pagoda, whilst relatively new, is such a lovely monument, and complements the pond and gardens beautifully. I had the place to myself and it was a real treat and worth the small effort to get there.
