Labuan /ləˈbuːən/ (Jawi: لابوان), officially the Federal Territory of Labuan (Malay: Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan, Jawi: ولايه ڤرسكوتوان لابوان), is a federal territory of Malaysia. It is made up of the eponymous Labuan Island and six smaller islands, and is located off the coast of the state of Sabah in East Malaysia. Labuan's capital is Victoria and is best known as an offshore financial centre offering international financial and business services via Labuan IBFC since 1990 as well as being an offshore support hub for deepwater oil and gas activities in the region. It is also a tourist destination for people travelling through Sabah, nearby Bruneians and scuba divers. The name Labuan derives from the Malay word labuhan which means harbour. Labuan is often referred to as the pearl of Borneo.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery which contains a total number of 3,900 burials. The cemetery lies on the Jalan Tanjong Batu road which leads from the airport to the town. It is less than a kilometre from the airport and about 3 kilometres from the Island's town; Victoria. Within the Cemetery will be found the Labuan Memorial and the Labuan Cremation Memorial.
This memorial to those who died in WW2 is very well maintained and the cemetery is quiet and peaceful. The Remembrance Day ceremonies are held here every year. The staff who maintain the memorial park are to be commended. Also thanks to the Malaysian government and the Malaysian Armed services for their help. A special thanks to the U.K. war graves commission for their support.

I have travelled to Labuan 4 times over the last 7 years and this visit to Surrender Point was very disappointing. Whether it has been vandalised or just in need of urgent repairs the monument has been neglected. The peace park which is maintained by the Japanese Government was it's usual neat self. This is the spot where in September 1945 the surrender took place and how about the Australian Government preserving this monument in a proper manner.

Chimney Labuan is a historical place to visit. There is a museum where you could view the details and activities related to the Chimney. The environment there is tranquil and there is a beautiful garden along the path to the Chimney. A great place to spend with your friends and family while enjoying the beauty of the nature

We visited the Patau-Patau Water Village independently, it was easy to find on the outskirts of Labuan Main Town. The water village is basically a Malay Kampong with all the houses built on stilts out into the Labuan Harbour. There is an intricate network of raised concrete paths along which you can explore the water village. All the locals we met, and especially the children, were friendly and helpful in giving directions. Many of the houses are beautiful, immaculately maintained and feature many small plants, shrubs and flowers. You get a real feel for Malay customs and traditions as you wander freely around this large water village. Entrance is free and there is ample parking at the roadside at the entrance to the water village. Note that although this area is children friendly there are no handrails along the pathways !!! Possible the only negative to visiting this place is the apparent lack of any small restaurants or places to get a drink, it would have been nice just to sit down somewhere and soak up the ambience and culture of the place. But this a minor quibble !! Well worth an hour+ wandering around, highly recommended if visiting Labuan..
