This beautiful historic building (City Hall for La Orotava) overlooks the Plaza de Ayuntamiento, with great views down to the sea. The city hall is filled with artworks (many on loan from Madrid's El Prado), fine carved woodwork, plush antique furniture, and an aura of genteelness. The staff is friendly and welcoming, apparently used to gawking tourists walking around. A real highlight of the town!

Updated cuisine with a focus on tradition, authentic flavours and quality raw materials are the basis of each of our proposals. A space full of charm located in a historic house of the Villa de La Orotava. In our stoves, Carmen Pérez and the 'alma mater' of a project on the rise, prints that deep-rooted cuisine and tradition that well rewards the palate.
A short walk across the street from Casa de Los Balcones so worthy of a visit with a cool covered courtyard with a bar and cafe. We sat in style welcome relief from the afternoon heat just soaking in the history. On the way back we passed a lovely ice cream shop recommend that too.

This church is beautiful and a really excellent find during a day trip to this lovely town. The church itself is well worth a visit, however for a tiny fee you can visit the Treasury either guided or unguided (either way the guide has to unlock the doors for you!) With Natalia as our guide the tour was splendid, she was very knowledgeable and immensely proud (justifiably) of all the displays. Each room had its own treasures and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour, which at €2 each was an absolute bargain!

This was my first place to visit on arrival in the wonderful historical centre of La Orotava, which should not be missed on any account. You can catch a bus to the town from Puerto de la Cruz - the journey costs only €1.45. The terminus is the bus station and a short walk brings you to the old town centre. The Church of San Agustín is in the Plaza de la Constitutión, the first square that you encounter. The interior is cool and very pleasant to behold. It was built as a chapel for the former Augustinian abbey.

A life size Nativity scene throughout December, great for families of all ages. Also the site of the famous annual sand display.
