well a very beautiful place to visit. there is a lift to reach just below the top. then you have to climb two flight of stairs. the view is breathtaking. go in the evening to avoid the harsh sun. the breakwater is an excellent place for a really long walk. you may see lot of mongoose roaming around. some beautiful graffiti adorn the rocks on the breakwater. take lot of water and snacks with you.

Unniyappam you get here as prasadam is a delight, its cooked right in front of the idol and a highly reveed prasadam amoung devotees, like Ambalapuzha Pal Payasam and Sabarimala Aravana and Ada. Its an ancient temple and a must visit for all Ganesha devotees, a usual place for Sabarimala devotees also.

If you want to delve into the full history of temple try to stay one evening and night We did . As mentioned in other reviews there are two temples here . Original one and one built by Raja of kotarakara nearby Try to visit both Uniappams are available on all days expect on udayasthamana pooja ie dawn to dusk pooja by any devotee as offering On those days unnippams are given as prasadam only around 7.30 pm after nivedhiyam . Raja of kotarakara created Kathakali here to be an alternative to krishnanaatam kali of samorin . Unniganapathy idol made by perunthachan famous architect sculptor carpenter of temples palaces etc
