Chandrakanta Handique Bhawan is the head office of Asam Sahitya SabhaThe Chandrakanta Handique Bhavan, built in 1926, was donated by late Radhakanta Handique. It is the headquarters of Asam Sahitya Sabha. Personalities like late Chandradhar Baruah, late Dimbeswar Neog, late Mitradev Mahanta and other writers from Jorhat have adorned the presidency of Asom Sahitya Sabha.

The Sri Sri Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar does not require a review.It is one of the greatest religious places of Assam with a 250 years(approx.) history.Visited by massive numbers of devotees every year.Easily accessible from the NH-37 near Jorhat,the approach road is picturesque.A famous Vaishnavite Namghar(Worship place) of Assam.The most suitable time to visit is in the month of August to September ,but can visit in any day.

The burial place of one of the greatest patriots of India,Lachit Barphukan, who stopped Aurangzeb's Mughal Jihad machine dead in their tracks in Assam. Maintained properly, it is a must go destination for history buffs.

Very good place for the history lovers and specially if you are from Assam then it's a must visit it closes by 5 pm so go there early the entry ticket is very cheap only 10 RS for adults , the whole environment of the place takes you to the old times , the museum is beautiful with lots of info with information given in English so no problem for foreign visitors or visitors outside of Assam , the staff is very friendly, also a very good place for friends to go and also family and young people Hope it helps !!!
