The inner sanctum of The Maha bodhi stupa is surreal.Once can just meditate there for hours even though so many people are doing their rounds of the stupa.Just to be in the very place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment is enough to make it even more special. The evening times were even more beautiful with the colorful lights on the stupa and the chanting of prayers. One can just get lost in time here with no thoughts and that is precious. The only thing which can be changed is the guards whistle, which they blow to let people know that the timing of closing down the area is at hand.It is really disturbing and destroys the peace of the sanctum.

Tucked away in a hidden gateway to remote and rural Bihar, the temple site is ideal to experience positive energy by people for all faith. Archaeological Survey of India has taken immense interest in the sculptors in temple. There is unique Peepal tree with its branches bending toward the temple. The temple houses Shahastralinga with around 1,008 miniature Shivlingas

This is a wonderful place to learn about Mahayana Buddhist philosophy and meditation. They have ten day courses with excellent teachers. During my visit to Gaya, we stayed just near 1.2KM away from this place. The intention to stay there was to visit all the important sites in or near Bodh Gaya. This temple is one of the largest and most visited temple/monastery among many many Monasteries & temples. This temple is just near to the Large Buddha Statue. If you are Buddha Follower or wish to explore about Bodh Dharma must visit this site.
