You’ll wonder why you don’t live in Portland after you’ve visited this laid-back and friendly city. With a reputation for manicured parks, eclectic nightlife, fine micro-breweries and distilleries, and nature that cuts right into the city, Portland’s a Pacific Northwest must-visit. Don’t miss the famous Japanese Garden, one of the largest and most beautiful of its kind outside of Japan.

Right across the street from pioneer square is the old courthouse. It is chock full of Oregon history. Don’t miss this. You need to pass through the metal detector , like in the airport, but once inside you are free to roam. And yes you can even climb into the cupola at the top for a great view of the freak parade going on across the street.

A fountain located in Portland.
This fountain's water flows all year round. There are quite a few fountains along the path from here towards the South, where you can also visit Lovejoy Fountain and a couple smaller fountains... We used to play here in the summer when I was a kid, then my kids came here to play and there's even a "secret" cove where you can stand under the falling water! Do not leave children unattended and ALWAYS wear water shoes! Do not play in this fountain barefoot! Lounging in the sun or hanging at lunchtime or taking beautiful photos as your backdrop while attending an event at the Ira Keller Auditorium are just a few ways to enjoy this architectural water feature...
