Friendly chef and relaxed feeling. House wine pleasant. We were not in a rush and were not rushed by the staff too. Lovely easy going visit.

This is the perfect little takeaway if you're looking for picnic supplies or sustenance to see you to the top of Stromboli's eponymous volcano. I love arancini (classic Sicilian risotto balls) but it can be a struggle to find meat free ones so I was delighted to find they had them with spinach and mozzarella. So much so that I ate them twice in two days! We also sampled their foccacia bread and potato frittata. Both were equally good. With more and more restaurants staying closed at lunchtime as Stromboli enters the 'winter' season, this place is a real godsend.Â

Went here and from start to finish felt like nobody cared. We had some drinks but had to get the menus ourselves as nobody could care if we were there. Only one girl had a smile but everybody else couldnât care. We didnât bother eating. Needs service skills. They are lucky the volcano climb shops are next door and one of the best views on the island

The restaurant has a new management. It is not in a great position, although ginostra always offers magnificent views: Puntazzo' terrace overlooks some private terraces, barely two meters away: not so quite and just impolite. A wine list out of place: many champagne but with few dishes to match, and really expensive (italian, as Franciacorta, French, as Lauretn Perrier, very expensive). Better Sicilian white wines. A few dishes, many already finished, so we have to get two classic, as "pasta alla norma" and "al pesce spada", really bad. Finally, a kitchen without character and without characteristics. Desserts to forget, too. A good example of how local resources are not used and a now-outdated radical-chic is offered.Dear Filippo F, we are very sorry for your bad experience. We hope to have you back soon to have the chance to make you change your mind. Please let us know when you are coming back!Lo Staff de 'Il Puntazzo'

Extreme unfriendly staff. The owner doesn't care The waiter takes the order, forgets to post it. 7 waiters standing around ignoring the clients. Food uneatable. The worst experience ever. Stay away from this tourist trap.

Probably the best restaurant on Stromboli (also according to Michelin). Setting is wonderful by the sea, and the interior decoration is simple but tasteful. Food is almost exclusively fish and seafood, not sure there is any meat on the menu. All dishes we tried, on two occassions were excellent, well prepared and of significant size. Further more, they have a very elaborate wine selection compared to other places. Atmosphere is relaxed, but service is a little more formal than in other restaurants on Stromboli, and also more professional. Price level is not very different from nearby restaurants. In my experience the best value for money on Stromboli.

We understand that Stromboli is expensive, but in Pizzeria Giovanni the prices of the drinks are not in the menu. We ordered 1 birra (66cl) and it came out to be 7 euros. The food is good but 34 euros for 1 salad, 1 pasta a la norma and 1 birra is a bit too much.PD: the capuccinos are 3 euros each

We are open every year from April to October. Please, call us for reservation. Catch of the day, mediterranean flavours, panorama, peace and relax.
I went twice for dinner in this restaurant.Despite I was unable to book a table at the lower terrace I enjoyed the staying. The owner is quite weird...it seems he would enjoy to discourage customers instead of encouraging them to try the dishes...but I was prepared to it as I read a lot of TA feedback on him.The dishes are really good, I loved the "pasta alla Nino" , the "prawn's tartare" and the "cipollata di tonno".The waiters and the wife are really nice and friendly. You should just keep Mr. Ninno away from client-relationship..Ok for english, even if we are both Italian people.Thank you for your opinion. As I said in the past, I can be an accessory element with respect to the experience of eating on the terrace of the Trattoria ai Gechi.Thank for your open mind and 360 degree view!Best regards,Nino Zaccone

A free volcano show while eating a delicious meal! Our hotel arranged for us to be picked up at the âpick up pointâ. We then winded up the narrow path to the Observatorio. The seats bring you within very close viewing distance to the eruptions! Very amazing to see. The food is also good. I had the black squid ink pasta- the best I ever had. My husband had a pizza and we shared the octopus and swordfish appetizer- excellent- with a bottle of wine- topped off with cassata for dessert. Oh, and the view!!
