it all started very good with Moha our guide picking us up from our accommodation on time. this agency is taking all the precautionary COVID-19 measures. we started journey 7 am through the beautiful landscapes of the High atlas mountains, few stops in viewpoints with panoramic views on Berber villages in the mountains. after 4 hours drive we arrived to the magical ait Ben Haddou with was the highlight of the trip, our lovely guide Moha is very friendly and well informed about the history and the culture, and then we visited the film studio and Taourirte Kasbah in Ouarzazate. i would say that the journey is a bit long but it's worth it, but if you have more time than what I had you can take an overnight trip to ouarzazate this agency organise that. so grateful Moha thank you again

Abdel made our short time in Marrakech so memorable. He has an incredibly extensive knowledge of the history of Marrakech, and Morocco as a whole. I can’t believe how much I learned on this trip. We felt completely safe with him as our guide. We were unsure what would even be open with the nationwide curfew and Ramadan, but Abdel did, and he took care of all of the planning for the trip. We started with a tour all around Koutoubia and the surrounding gardens. Abdel is very knowledgeable about where the best photo-ops are at each stop! We then got a tour of Dar el Bacha, which was an amazing glimpse into the lives of early 1900’s royalty and their wives, concubines, and relatives. We took a nice break for lunch on a gorgeous rooftop, where the tour company had arranged for use to have meals that fit out dietary restrictions (vegan). The meal and service was fabulous, and the view was breathtaking and unique. We learned a lot about Berber and Jewish architecture all throughout the city, and are now better able to identify the different artistic approaches of early architects throughout Marrakech. After that, we took a leisurely stroll throughout the Medina and Jamaa El F’na to learn about the different textiles and shop. I also got to learn how to make Argan oil and sample amazing products at a specialty herb shop. Abdel was extremely helpful in communicating and negotiating with shop owners to get us the best prices, and also helped us steer clear of the low quality shops. We loved the rug show so much that we are going home with a couple of them! We ended the trip on top of a building that gave us a view of all of the places that we had explored together. I can’t imagine doing the city of Marrakech any other way. The last year of the pandemic has made everyone stressed and nervous about traveling, but we felt completely safe and comfortable with Abdel as our guide. I feel like we got a little taste of all of the amazing things that the city has to offer, with the best guide! Abdel is truly fantastic, and clearly has so much pride and love for his city!

Rural markets usually take place once a week. On Wednesdays in the village of Ida Ogourd locals do their weekly shopping and meet ‘n’ greet friends. This market is a friendly, family affair which takes place on a small hill in a fertile area only 20km southeast of Essaouira. Market-goers traditionally travel by donkey to get the goods they need for the forthcoming week: the “Donkey Parking Lot” surrounding the market is a sight to behold! At the market you find vegetables, fruits, spices, housewares, tools, and construction materials as well as various services that are offered: a blacksmith putting new horseshoes onto donkeys’ hooves; a welder repairing pans, kettles, and teapots; a cobbler resoling shoes. Of special note are barbers under tents - amusing barber shops, indeed! As we stroll through the market we pick up interesting details about farmers’ lives in this region accompanied by background information on Berber culture in the Haha province. We finish our tour of the market with tea as we observe the busy scenery. Afterwards we visit an Argan cooperative to learn about the production of precious Argan Oil - in all of the world this is a product unique to this area. We watch the Berber women at every step in extracting oil from the kernels of the Argan fruits using a delicate, traditional process done by hand. Of course, we taste this delicious oil that bears the name “Morocco’s Gold”.

We took a walking tour through the countryside, along the coast with two young children (2 and 6ys).They both rode a for much of day. Our guide, Claudia is great, very friendly and knowledgable. We enjoyed some incredible scenery, had fun running/sliding down dunes, looked around historic places and finished our day with a delicious lunch in the home of a local Berber family who were very welcoming to us. It was a great experience to share with our kids. We would definitely recommend Claudia and Berberlands and hope to do and tour in the future when we return to Essaouira.

Camel ride was a great experience, seeing new born camel was a treat. Lunch was 6 euros and excellent. Guide knew everybody in the community which was both entertaining and eventually - my one criticism - leading to us hanging around as we waited for the long social interactions to finish. Guide was a lovely guy.
