You can eat very well—and very cheaply—in Taipei. The restaurants may not look posh, but the quality of the food is superlative. And there’s a huge variety of restaurants—in addition to local Taiwanese specialties, you’ll find regional cuisines from all over China, as well as great Indian, Japanese and even Italian options. Just make sure to leave some room for snacks—street-vendor food here is addictive.

At 101 stories high, Taiwan's tallest skyscraper boasts spectacular views and high-end shopping boutiques including Gucci, Prada, and Louis Vuitton. There's also a Din Tai Fung on the basement level.
Fantastic views of the entire city of Taipei and surrounding region including mountains from the indoor observation deck (360 degree panorama, interactive screen displays to highlight key buildings and landmarks, showing views at different times of day and night), along with a more limited outside observation deck (which gives you the opportunity to look up to see the spire at the top of the tower). Also able to view the ‘damper’, a giant metal sphere designed and tuned to counter-balance exterior forces on the skyscraper such as typhoon winds and earthquakes. Really impressive!

This mall is a favourite of mine for very affordable shopping. Starting from Taipei Main Station, the mall stretches for about a mile under ground. You can walk down one side with stores on either side, then back the other side of same. The mall has clothing, footwear, watches, jewelery, Chinese arts & crafts in one section, computer games, manga and anime, electronics for the other half. Play Station and Nintendo are huge here. There is even a coffee shop with waitresses dressed as anime characters. I was amazed by the number of vending machines which dispense toys of all kinds. The restaurants at the end are mostly Indonesian for food. Duroyal Ice Cream at that end also, is a must for $1 ice cream cones and they have 40 awesome flavours. Price has not gone up for years. It is at the other end of the underground mall so if you want to go there first, go to Beiman metro stop instead of Taipei Main, to save walking a mile to get there for ice cream.

Miramar Entertainment Complex is a shopping and entertainment destination. Find a mix of local and international brand stores plus a massive Ferris wheel, games, an IMAX theater, and restaurants.
The Taiwanese are generally very well mannered, and the service in the whole shopping centre was no different. Has a plethora or stores and places to eat. The Ferris wheel helps too, but a good place to chill in the day and when dusk hits, you can make your way to the Shilin night market.

This electronic shopping mecca features the latest tech everything, with entire floors devoted to VR, cameras, music, toys, cellphones, and concept stores for brands like Canon and Apple.
This is definitely the best IT mall in Taipei which is also houses so many different gadgets and cool trendy items. You have to be there to really see what they can offer too as they have many floors to explore.
