Its always a delight for me whenever and whatever season I visit the city of Bishkek, Its has its own unique beauty from its iced cap mountain to the scenic plains, lovely people all around and the foods are absolutely a fav of mine. Discover Bishkek, its a very beautiful place!

Nice place to sit with a bubble tea and people watch. Went with a local student who likes fast food, though she avoided the KFC. I watched all of Phoebe Encarnation’s videos before coming here and at that time she said no KFC Or McD’s which attracted me, but that has changed. Like Americans, they are under the spell of junk food, but there is plenty of other food and good food to find everywhere here. The mall itself does not appear to have handicap assists, so beware. Third/top floor has the food court; sushi, pizza, hot dogs, burgers (including Black Star Burgers, a music idol owned burger place), a sit-down restaurant with higher prices and a Korean food place called One Minute, I think. There is a jungle fun area for kids and a movie place with multiple offerings I think all in Russian or Kyrgyz language. Standard mall. Clean attractive stores and a GREAT grocery/variety store in the basement. This mall is on the transportation line for trolley buses (#9; #11, for instance), buses and marshrutkas. I probably would not have gone if any of the tourist sites had been open, but stayed in out of the rain and enjoyed it.

I almost always stop in at TsUM when visiting Bishkek. The first 4 or so floors aredevoted to a range of shops that sell a vast range of goods that one would find in a European or North American department store, but aimed at the local Kyrgyzstani middle class. The top floor has some booksellers and a lot of small tourist shops. Prices are reasonable, selection is good (and interesting), and discounts (practice saying "skeedkee mozhno?") are generally offered, especially when you buy multiple items. While it helps to speak Russian or Kyrgyz, some sellers speak some English.
