Life on the Big Island is a little bit slower… and locals like it that way. The natural beauty and ecological features of the island are a draw for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Test your chutzpah at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to the longest volcanic eruption in recorded history, or climb to the indescribably beautiful summit of Mauna Kea. At the end of the day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a quivering plate of fresh poke, followed by a fruity shave ice.

Located in scenic Keauhou, this shopping center offers everything that’s needed for kama’aina and visitors both :)). The KTA grocery has really ono poke, Musubis, and fresh made deli items, plus the full array of picnic supplies as well... a Long’s Drugs, urgent care clinic, bookstore, art galleries, and eateries are also found here too. We always visit the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays (8a-12p) for awesome local veggies, fruits, baked goods, flowers, and other unique products — in terms of variety and selections, this is one of the best markets on the Big Island. And when the Covid pandemic is over, we are looking forward to the weekly performances by the talented young ladies from the Island’s hula schools ... if you are heading to the southern area, stop here for your trip needs! Enjoy :))

Such a lovely village to walk around and explore all the amazing shops. I love going to the Kona coffee café as their drinks are really good. The restaurants are really nice too with very yummy food. There is lots to do and see in the village and it has a market which is also lovely to walk around and go have a look at. It is a fun village to hang around in.

First of all if you stay at the Fairmont Orchid, there is a shuttle available to take you from the hotel to here and you can call for a shuttle back from any store. This place is just so convenient and they carry a lot of essentials. They also sell lunch boxes we bought a bento with a musubi and fried chicken in it, and a 6.99$ spicy ahi poke bowl here (the poke tasted great by the way). This is a great way to save on lunch or breakfast or if you wake up late brunch! They also carry grocery items and fresh fruits that you can enjoy on your trip.

Nice collection of shops including some high end stores. Easy open air walking with a few restaurants as well. There is a gas station also beside the parking lot which is very convenient. From Whalers General Store with just about anything Hawaii and sundries to Tiffany’s Jewelry just like in NYC, it’s nice browsing or shopping.
