Serious shoppers will be sure to find something they like along this huge underground shopping street. It also serves a functional purpose as a passage connecting multiple train stations.
This is a huge underground place where there are lots of shops and eateries. Definitely a great place to visit when it rains and its linked to Namba station which is just 2 stops from Osaka station.

This shopping street has been beloved by everyone in the Osaka area while also bringing more and more tourist visitors year after year who want to see "Dotonbori and Namba" to get a feel for the real Osaka. It has spread not only all over Japan but also around the world, especially throughout Asia. As one of the world's busiest shopping districts, Minami features various shops, unique areas such as Dotonbori and the Hozenji Yokocho Street, food culture and the arts, and the fun of strolling around. This shopping street situated as its main street plays a fundamental role as "safe, clean, and bustling passage through Minami".
Was here 1st week of June 2019 with my family. Stayed at at the nearby Hotel Yuki Nipponbashi. Its a busy and covered shopping street with lots of interesting things to see. Lots of restaurants, too. Inside is also the most fluffy cheesecake ever--Uncle Rikuro, which I bought for only JPY725! There are a myriad things to see here since its a mix of different stores. Lots of cosmetics and drugstores and there is also a McDonalds, I believe. The place is open till late at night, although some establishments close at around 9 or 10 pm. A great experience indeed! Will surely come back to this area.

More than 30 shops make up Doton Plaza on Osaka's famous Dotonbori Street. Find Japanese crafts, international fashion retailers, jewelers, and more. There's also an airport shuttle and tea museum.
Had already bought our return tickets on the Rapi:t before I learnt of this place & the bus to & from the airport, it was only a 3 minute walk away from our guesthouse! Took the rapid:t to Osaka but decided to forfeit our return tickets after all the hassle of lugging our baggage up & down steps at the stations. Our baggage would be much heavier on our return & we would be doubly tired so I went to the information desk at Doton plaza & booked our tickets to Kansai Airport. We arrived at the plaza 20 minutes before our departure time. The bus arrived right on time & our luggage was loaded onto the bus, we climbed aboard & took our seats. The Journey was so comfortable as the next thing I knew was that we had stopped right outside the terminal.

Restaurants on the 8th floor ! A great sushi place. Better than the ones in the street markets and cheaper too!!! We went there on a weekday and was able to sit immediately. we went back on a sunday and the place was full with waiting clientele....still worth it! there are also grocery and shopping center...if you get tired of the streetmarkets then head to the keihan city mall....
