You could spend your whole Chiang Mai vacation exploring the famous Night Bazaar. Once you’ve exhausted the art of the cheerful haggle, however, there’s plenty more to explore. The National Museum and Botanic Garden are great places to soak up some local culture and to breathe in the delicate fragrance of Thai orchids. In the city’s center, the remains of ancient walls embrace over 30 temples. Limber travelers can climb 300 stairs to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, an ornate Buddhist temple in the hills.

I purchased three custom shirts to expand my options with a recent suit. My shirts are sharp, wear well and launder well. Dambar (Mr. Armani) was very professional and highly service oriented. I would, and will likely, buy custom clothing from him again.

We used these free shuttles almost everyday of our stay pre Corona shutdown in a nearby condo. The driver was not always super friendly, and never replied when we said hello and thanks in Thai, but no matter. It was clean, prompt and reliable. There are 5 going to different parts of Chiang Mai, so wherever you go, there's 1 for you. If ypu are staying near any Central Mall, look out for them. Thanks for many great, free rides.

Japan Village Set in the chic and popular Nimmanhaemin area, Japan Village is the latest shopping heaven for locals, tourists and expats. A stunning mix of natural beauty and modern design, this new community mall combines the ambience of Japan with Chiang Mai’s timeless charm. This is the first location where all these ‘Made in Japan' products and services are on offer.

Unlike a lot of other reviewers, we still find this mall rather appealing. To many people are ready to write it off without giving it time to upgrade itself. Improvements are being made and it is looking far more inviting. The food court in the basement next to Tops Supermarket is complete and looks far more modern, with new food stalls, coffee shops and seating area. Floors above have also had some redecoration, yes some shops have been moved about a bit during the refurbishment but that is not unusual you can’t do building work if a shop is still operating, so some of the silly comments made by other reviewers make no sense. Don’t complain that the mall needs to be upgraded, then complain when it is. If you are going to comment on something, make a sensible comment. There are bargains to be found, if you look around. Small independent traders with a myriad of items all there for the discerning shopper. Don’t be put off by some of the negative remarks, this is still great location. People talk about the new malls, everything sharp and shiny but they are also far more expensive. Tops supermarket stocks plenty of items for the benefit of tourists and their food area serves plenty of delicious dishes that appeal to everyone no matter where they are from. The cinema on the top floor has been totally refurbished and Major Cineplex will be open for business within the next couple of weeks. A few moaning Minnies will not stop us from coming here. We have made it a must visit for the past 15 years or so. Give it a try, make up your own mind, and enjoy it.
