Galeria del Sol is both a Fine Art Gallery and Art School in Bucerias, Mexico. Visitors from around the world have enjoyed viewing works depicting the color and flavor of Mexico and the Mexican people. Others have returned yearly to paint and study with resident artist, Calum Cameron, who has been described as the "master of light and shade" by the arts magazine "Vallarta Lifestyles".

We are located on corner of Lazaro Cardenas and Calle Morelos in the beautiful town of Bucerias. We are located one block from the ocean! We offer classes in lampwork beads, beginning stained glass, fused glass, suncatchers, fused glass jewellry, and glass mosaics. Come on in and take a class!!! We also carry many beautiful products handmade right here in Mexico.
I like this little store for it's one of a kind gifts. They have lovely homemade gifts for a fairly inexpensive price. You can also take glass making classes if you are going to be in Bucerias for any length of time.

Absolutely loved renting boards with these guys. I was worried traveling down to Sayulita/Punta Mita without bringing boards that I might be stuck renting some older, lesser boards, but I was immediately relieved to step in to Quiverito and see all the great boards they had to offer. So many sick options, tons of quality logs, midlenth options and rode a couple of the most fun twin fin boards I've ever been on. Tons of beautiful boards and loved that they had so many retro/alternative shapes on top of the more higher performance options. Cannot recommend renting with these guys enough. Tons of local knowledge of different spots as well. Always knew where to go based on swell and tide and always had the perfect board for the scenario thanks to these guys. Omar helped me out a ton, super awesome dude!!

Sophie (I believe I have her name correct) along with her husband make these jewellery pieces. The work is excellent and Sophie is a sweet woman. I bought a ring from her this year and love it. Very much worth the visit.

We are the only hammock specialty shop on the coast, featuring a wide variety of the finest handwoven Mayan hammocks in many different fibers, styles, sizes, and color combinations! We also offer a unique collection of fascinating Mexican Folk Art, representative of many of the country's artistic regions. In all cases, we endeavor to work directly with the artists and their co ops, bringing you a wide variety of authentic Mexican art, at fair trade prices.
As the earlier reviewers have noted, Hala's Hamaca Maya store in La Penita, Nayarit is the best if not only place on the Mexico Pacific Coast to find quality artisanal Mayan hammocks made in Yucatan. Note that the Puerto Vallarta store has been closed for years (those persistent web sites) and you should call (cel: 322-142-7062) or email ([email protected]) before just driving and expecting the store to be open, especially during Summer and early Fall, though changes in hours and location(s) are expected November 2019.

Such a wonderful community center- definitely recommend taking advantage of the free guided tours are available at 11 am and 3 pm to learn about how it all started and the amazing work they are doing in the community. When you visit consider bringing backpacks and school supplies to donate to the scholarship program and/or anything else to be resold in their recycle/thrift shop (I packed extra clothes to donate and also brought all the hotel toiletries) Also help support the organization by purchasing locally made gifts and items at the gallery- the best gift shop in town! I can't wait to go back!
