Memphis is a pilgrimage for those wanting to visit the birthplace of the blues, of soul and of rock 'n' roll. On Beale Street, W.C. Handy put down on paper the first written blues music. Elvis, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash all recorded at the historic Sun Records, which is now a museum. Graceland, the second most-visited home in America, welcomes visitors from around the world who yearn for a peek into the life of "the King." Beyond the music, Tennessee's largest city also offers much more. It has more sunny days each year than Miami, and combines southern tradition and hospitality with modern amenities. You'll enjoy great dining (be sure to sample the barbecued ribs), art galleries and exciting nightlife.

The only nut shop of its kind. The Peanut Shoppe strives to ensure that all its nuts are prepared fresh, everyday, throughout the day, guaranteeing you receive the freshest orders and tantalizing your taste buds with the aroma of freshly roasted nuts of all varieties. On location since 1949.
My colleagues and I happened upon the Peanut Shoppe yesterday during a business trip to Memphis. One doesn't ordinarily expect to have a fabulous time in a shop, but we sure did! Rida, the charming and voluble longtime owner, not only prepares delicious treats (and they're not just peanut-related, by the way), he is an energetic and enthusiatic "guide" to the world of nuts and sweets. He is a gifted raconteur and a *lot* of fun to be around. And where else can you see a still-in-use 1929 iron, gas-fired Planters peanut roaster? Adults and children alike will enjoy a magical experience!

I bought some chocolate bars and peanut brittle to take home and I wish I had bought more. The peanut brittle was lighter and tasted better than any I have had before. The employees were very helpful and gift wrapped my purchases.

We visited the Peabody and shopped at Lanskys. The shops were very nice. Clothing was very much in style for Memphis. The gift shop had wonderful items from Radco Christmas Ornaments to wonderful Ducks made from 100 year old cedar fence post. I couldn’t resist not taking home a duck.

Concert - Peter Cincotti for his new album release. Great set of songs. The concert had a lot of energy with great music. I haven't seen anyone play like that in a long, long time. Show included a lot of music from his newest album - Long Way From Home - a must add to any collection. Halloran - Fantastic small venue with very roomy seats, which was a pleasant surprise!! I am a veteran who happened to get my tickets via Vettix.org. And without those tickets I probably wouldn't have gone, but was so glad I did. Best evening of music for me in 2017!! One thing - make sure you carry cash for some of these events - at the end of this show you needed cash to get the album.

This is a really nice art shop with lots of local art created by a variety of local artists. The owner Rick really has his heart in the right place. He is interested in giving local artists a place to sell their goods and for shoppers to have a place to buy unique goods in a creative atmosphere. This is in an interesting artsy Memphis neighborhood in the center of town near the zoo. There are also some other fun shops and several good restaurants on this strip. Worth a visit!
