My wife and I have been travelling to Kennebunkport, ME for 26 years now, typically annually and discovered Mast Cove on our first trip there. Jean Briggs makes the world of purchasing art so very comfortable that anyone who feels they do not know how to buy art just need spend sometime with her. Each and every time we go there, she suggests she put on some coffee or maybe a glass of wine and the experience begins. From our first purchase, an Andrew Stevevich print of The Dance and a watercolor of a finch, we have such fond memories of the time with Jean as well as the art we have purchased. For anyone who enjoys art, this is a mandatory visit while in Kennebunkport.

Gem of a Gallery in Picturesque Seaside Town of Kennebunk in Maine! We have been patrons of this wonderfully-diverse art gallery for years now and are proud owners of paintings, wind sculptures, and glass art from various artists that the gallery represents... We have commissioned pieces and also bought from the gallery displays directly and, throughout each transaction, the staff has been wonderful to deal with and has made the process seamless - special kudos go out to Natalie (Gallery Director & Manager) and Abby (Marketing Director/Event & Studio Coordinator). Be sure to stop by and hit all of the buildings that encompass the gallery as each one has special treasures to be admired and, most certainly, one of these will touch your spirit and speak to your heart, as all good art does...!

If you are visiting Portland, take the 15-minute ferry ride to Peaks Island. During the spring and summer months, it runs every hour at 15 past the hour. It's a great place for a relaxing stroll and more. During a walk around Peaks Island, we visited the Richard Boyd Art Gallery. It had a good collection with a mix of local artists and those from outside of the area who provided oil and watercolor paintings and sculptures. The Gallery is owned by an artist and his wife. He does a lot of work with ceramics and creates unique pieces. We end up buying a beautiful and unique decorative vase. Visit it for enjoyment as you view the art work. Be aware, that you might end up buying--but the prices are reasonable. It's about a ten-minute leisurely walk from the ferry.

Jan Kilburn's prints are sold widely in the area and on Monhegan. We had seen and like them so decided to stop by her studio on the way to Pemaquid lighthouse. She was there--very nice and welcoming and we enjoyed seeing both her original watercolors and prints. Of course, we had to buy some!

Conveniently located down the Bristol Road from the historic town of Damariscotta, the gallery features the paintings of award-winning landscape artist Will Kefauver, and a continually updated collection of the work of noted guest artists. The gallery hosts monthly themed shows featuring subjects of interest to visitors to the Maine coast and painting classes for teens and adults.
Wow! If you’re looking for an amazing oil paint class Will is your man! Our family of 5 (80years old down to 16 year old) loved this class! We dabble in “paint and sip events”, so it was amazing to get real life lessons and walk out w a painting of the lighthouse that we love! Will has so much talent painting AND instructing!! He was so calm and amazing at helping each of us. Highly recommend him!!! He was so accommodating and even allowed us to change days and add another painter last minute. We learned a lot from grids on the canvas to mixing oils. He was great and his studio holds gorgeous pieces for sale! We rank him 6 starts******!
