Meadows, lochs, moorlands, castles—the Isle of Harris packs all of the Scottish signatures into one punch. The east side of Harris boasts some of the oldest known rocks in the world, dating back millions of years. On the west side, white sand beaches are caressed by gray-green waters that are perfect for surfing. Cruise over to the volcanic islands of St. Kilda and explore the ruins of a medieval village. The Harris Outdoor Adventure Centre offers kayaking, sailing, windkarting and mountain biking excursions to suit all levels of experience.

Margarita has opened again and it was a delight to make an appointment to view her huge range of work; there really is something for everyone here, and our teenage son was impressed with the variety of media, subject and style. She is charming and her gallery is intimate and cosy. We bought a Japanese woodcut of St Kilda. We’ll treasure it.

Gallery in beautiful garden setting, in secluded bay, along a tree lined road i Drinishader on the Golden road, Isle of Harris
This gallery is perched above the rocky shore of the Bays of Harris, with views across The Minch to Skye, reached along a drive which winds through delightful gardens. Willie and Moira Fulton produce high quality paintings of local landscapes and local weather. We are the proud owners of some originals.

A quirky, curious little shop filled with tweed, art, gifts, vintage finds, wotnots, repurposed bits and bobs, scented soaps and candles, gorgeous china, glorious stuff and nonsense and smiles.

Welcome to The Mission House Studio, the studioand gallery of Beka Globe - Photographer and Nickolai Globe - Ceramic Artist. In the studio, overlooking the desolate and stunning rocky landscape of Harris, Beka’s stark photographs float off the stone walls, suspended by high tensile wires. Nickolai’s ceramics range from functional stoneware to abstract sculptural work. They are displayed on furniture, fashioned from the old timbers and reclaimed materials from the Church conversion. Music reverberates through the space. The photographic work of Beka Globe, a traditionally trained photographer, captures the both the subtle and harsh elements of the Hebridean landscape. Finding an emotive vastness, depth and simplicity, her silent images are moving, stirring a particular sense of place. The ceramic works of Nickolai Globe are influenced directly by the environment of the rugged North West. Drawing from elements of Zen and the unpredictable, his work reflects rather than emulates nature.
Both artists’ work really make you look again at the landscape around you and then when you are home makes you feel as if you are back in Harris

In the South of Harris you will find artisan mustard made from 100% natural ingredients. Try the complex mustard with its unusual and lingering nuances. Visit the website for Mustheb dealers, restaurants and the online shop or choose your Mustheb delicacy directly from the light blue mustard hut in Leverburgh.
Love this wee shop/hut at the side of the road, with a lay-by, handy for a motorhome, with the most gorgeous mustards and loads of choice! I also bought a stunning hand crafted wooden spoon!

I am amazed by the quality of the garments here, and the price is very fair. I would advise that people that have no idea of what quality is should not shop here, stick to Debenhams or t.k max.

First visited shop in 2015 and have since made online purchases since each year. Once again this year I have made Xmas purchases online on 3 occasions and as per usual found the service to be excellent in every respect not to mention the quality of the Products. As an aside I have had a similar great experience from the neighbouring Distillery! Great to support the fine folks of Harris ????
