In Paimpont, there is a particular workshop making dolls similar to our Breton grandmothers. Like a gallery, you will discover dolls dressed in lace with a protruding chin, brown and round eyes like marbles. Made on the spot, the Poupees Grand Mere are unique pieces.

There’s both an indoor and outdoor market here, set in a square surrounded by cafes. Selling everything: clothing, shoes, linens, crockery, gifts, art, fresh foodstuffs of every kind. There are street food stalls, and everything is beautifully presented. The atmosphere is great, stall holders and locals alike were friendly and helpful. We were there very early (straight of the St Malo ferry) but it didn’t get busy until about 10.00am. The town is lovely too, full of stylish individual shops. A great place to spend the day!

Small market of 8 oyster producers located on the port of Cancale open every day of the year, all day Tastings on the spot facing the Mont Saint-Michel take away
Cancale was a special stop on out travel map. Just on the beach you can find fermer's stalls with the variety of local oysters. On the beach you can see the plantation of oysters as well.Plateau of dozen would cost about 10 euro. So tasty are Belon oysters of different sizes. At the same place or in the oysters shop near the market you can buy acompanied wines and amenities for handling oysters at home:plates, knifes, gloves. In 100 meters ahead are the beautiful sightseeng spots in the area.

One of the great outdoor markets. If you are there on a Saturday it is a must. Plan to buy your picnic. It is almost entirely locals buying their fresh foods for the week, but the vendors were welcoming to tourists and quick to use their English if needed. The cheese stalls are fantastic as are the charcuterie stalls. It is also a good place to buy cuisine souvenirs like special spices or fois gras.
