Known as the "cook's market", Dandenong Market is a 150-year old traditional working market in Melbourne's South East. A mecca for fresh produce and hard-to-find ingredients, Dandenong Market attracts over 5 million visitors a year who seek out authentic, fresh produce. With over 200 market traders spread out over 8000 square metres, Dandenong Market offers everything from honeycomb fresh from the beehive, to flowers cut straight from the farm, to apples picked from the orchard. A busy and bustling market full of sights and delights, Dandenong Market offers a taste for every season and a treasure in every stall.
My favourite place to go every fortnight to get fresh fruit, veg, fish, bread and handmade soaps. Beautiful quality and great prices. Soooo much better than the supermarkets!!

This sculpture park does not appear to be promoted on the Touring Map of the Mornington Peninsula yet it is an outstanding free attraction (it is on google). The grounds are extensive and there is plenty to see, the Tree of Life mobile alone makes it worth while. There’s a gift shop and cafe where you can get a map of the exhibits but we found many more by wandering off the tracks. A great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Puckle Street is a high energy shopping street with lots of independent speciality shops, some chain stores, cafes, restaurants and services (such as the Australia Post and Woolworths). It is lovely coming to the street on a warm day and exploring all the stores, you will find something different. Also there is access to Moonee Ponds Central which has plenty more shops (such as K-Mart) and is a short walk to Queens Park if you want to sit and relax in a picturesque park. It is a shopping centre worth coming to and spending the day. There is lots of onsite parking (either at Moonee Ponds Central or at the back of Puckle Street) in lots of different sections (do your research where to come before you come). Another recommendation would be to come by train and get off at Moonee Ponds station or travel by the 59 tram.

Coburg Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday from 8am-1pm in the grounds of the Coburg Primary School. Patron entry to the market is via Urquhart Street. The site is accessible via public transport (bus routes 513, 527, 534, 561 & 903; tram 19; and a short walk from the Upfield Line), bike paths of Upfield, O’Hea St and the Merri Creek and there is also parking available at the Town Hall, Coburg Leisure Centre or along Urquhart St. In addition to the wonderful array of Victorian producers and food businesses that attend each week, often there is an animal farm, reptile display, face painting or chalk drawing happening – always something extra for the kids. This market embodies a vibrant community spirit, and welcomes visitors from near and far. Coburg FM is plastic bag free, please BYO reusable bags and coffee cup.
Coburg Farmers Market has a wide variety of fresh produce at fair prices. It's on the grounds of the Coburg Primary School, to the north of Bell Street, the great artery that connects western and eastern Melbourne. It's held every Saturday morning. Apart from the usual fruit and veggies, it has more up-market vendors selling wine and cheese, amongst other things. It isn't like the Preston Market, but it doesn't try to be, and you're buying direct from the producers.
