The famous second-hand bookstore. Browse around for hours or sit down and read for a while. There's also a small antiques section. It's located across the street from the Shipwreck museum, also worth a visit.

Oant sjen! Anton & Willie

For six generations, the knowledge of tanning and trading has been transferred on to the next generation. Each new generation bringing new innovations to the company. This combination has ensured that we have been successful in the processing of furs and skins for more than 150 years. SHARING KNOWLEDGE In 1861 , Sjoerd van Buren founded a skin & wool trading company. He separated the wool from the skin and sold the products seperatly. His son took i t over in 1903 and moved the company to Bolsward, where we are still located to this date. From 1969, we became a tannery and focused on producing endproducts, intended for decoration, health and adding extra cosiness to your home. THE BEGINNING From 1976, the company has been under the direction of brothers Thomas and Rients van Buren. Since 2003, Thomas retired and Jol t van Buren, son of Rients van Buren, has stepped into the company. Ensuring that the knowledge and experience of more than 150 years lives on.
