Thank you for letting our dogs in to your book shop. Very excited to read Midnight Sun which I bought from you. Would highly recommend. The lady who runs the shop is absolutely lovely!

We were staying at Croft 103 which is on the north side of the village of Laid. Lotte is a very talented and creative artist. She has over the years populated her 14 acres with some of her art work. You are free and encouraged to wander the Croft and be surprised and amused at the artwork she has placed and hidden here and there in the vegetation. Well worth the trip and ti,e to wander.

Lyth Arts Centre, deep in the Caithness countryside, is housed in a beautiful old building surrounded by trees and aged stone walls. From the outside it retains the character of a Victorian village school but the interior has been imaginatively converted to a dynamic multi-purpose arts centre. The programme of events includes live music, theatre, art exhibitions and other events. Office Hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm Exhibition Opening times are from 1st July - 31st Aug. 12pm - 5pm Every Day

The Carnegie Whisky Cellars and Tasting Vault is among the Highland's finest, bespoke whisky shops. Now open in the new Carnegie Courthouse in the historic Royal Burgh of Dornoch. The Carnegie Whisky Cellars hold an extensive selection of whiskies from across Scotland, as well as whisky related merchandise and other spirits.
I was in Dornoch on Wednesday with my husband and 19 year old son and we found the young man who served us to be very friendly and very knowledgeable about the whiskies and gins and he was very helpful especially with his in depth knowledge of whisky. A brilliant wee shop with a good range of whiskies and craft gins. Will be visiting again.

Our visit to Lochinver ended with a visit to Rockpool - unassuming from the outside but a treasurer trove on the inside. Beautiful gifts for all the family - toys and activities for children, lovely jewellery, particularly the semi-precious stones in celtic designs, attractive items for each room of the house, to mention just a few. The owner is charming, knowledgeable and helpful and her shop is prettily laid out, light and bright. Don't miss Rockpool when you're in Lochinver - a lovely browse with something for every pocket.
