Everyone knows Aspen as a top-notch winter resort town. But outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy it in the summer, too, when the mountains become a perfect setting for hiking, biking and horseback tours. Some may be surprised to find it’s a top romance destination—but after all that outdoor exercise, who wouldn’t want to repair to a luxurious hotel room or a cozy, firelit bar?

Usually just drive by on our way up to Pine Creek Cook house, decided to stop today and were very happy we did. Learned a lot about the builder of the original log cabin in 1948 by Stuart Mace and his founding of ACES.Elena was very generous explaining the weaving techniques for her carpets and other wares. They also had a great representation of leather goods that were hand made by Trevor Washko, who also shared the history of the property. Little know fact, dog sleds brought building materials to the site to build the log cabin. These huskies also were Television stars appearing in Sargent Preston of the Yukon. A MUST stop!

It was our first trip to Aspen/Snowmass and we were pleasantly pleased with this great, local bookstore. They had an incredible selection, warm staff and vibe, and fun little rooms throughout (upstairs too!) with different sections. We didn't try the cafe upstairs but were tempted. We were only in Aspen for a week but visited this store 3 times! Don't miss it!

The owner is the kindest soul, and the gals working with her so sweet! What’s not to love about that?!?! Enjoy!!!
