Absolutely amazing day here full of adventure! Hubby and I did archery, axe throwing and kayaking, each activity was filled with fun games and lots of support and encouragement from our instructors - Elliott and Amy went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. Such a well run, friendly and organised place set in the most beautiful grounds, we really hope to return. The Glamping pods and lodges look very appealing! Thank you guys.

So, this week on Monday I had an Air Rifle shooting experience followed by a 5 Gun Shooting experience on the Full Bore range. Guided and taught by Ian & Tom respectively - absolutely fantastic and I decided there and then that I wanted to shoot more. Today, Wednesday, I returned to Rifleman Firearms and purchased an Air Rifle and a pistol, plus a few other bits and pieces to treat myself. Excellent guidance and help from Ben, absolutely no rush and no pushy sales talk- just good honest advice from an experienced professional. AND on 'checking out', the price of my purchases was very very acceptable. I cannot rate Rifleman Firearms too highly and the staff are all helpful beyond measure - a real pleasure to do business with. I'm going to join their shooting Clubs and can't wait to start learning more.

Outdoor activity centre including dry ski slope, toboggan slope, frisbee golf course, onsite cafe-bar and onsite residential lodge.
Amazing evening twilight tobogganing. So festive and well thought out. Greeted by a lovely lady who gave us our safety talk and provided us all with Christmas hats then we headed off to the slope with our toboggans. The slope was split in 2 so our group of 6 had half the slope. Christmas songs playing and for the first time us adults could toboggan with the kids ???????? When our time on the slope was up we headed up to the little outdoor fire pit where we had sparklers, toasted marshmallows and had hot chocolate! Everything was perfect and I would highly recommend going!

All welcome, no experience needed, come and give it a go and for seasoned shooters we have plenty of challenging targets to test your skills. Mendip Shooting Ground is a family business, established in 1950. We are proud to run our shooting facilities to a high standard giving our club and corporate clients some of the best clay target shooting in the West of England. Please call us if you have any questions or would like to book a lesson.
Last time we visited Mendip Shooting Ground was 18 months ago, our close family friend lives down the road. We were met with a warm welcome by Craig (who has been there for 14 years]. On arriving we saw a tank sitting on the driveway, my daughter asked if she could sit in it, thinking she would be told no. Craig took us to the tank and let us in. After getting our cartridges, Craig took us to the arena where we were going to shooting. As we hadn't been shooting for a while he went through the rules and gave us a brief tuition. Then the fun began. If anyone wants to try Clay Pigeon, I would recommend Mendip Shooting School as there is nothing that they cant help you with. Already planning our next visit.

Clay pigeon shooting was on my bucket list and today I got the chance to try it out. What a fantastic experience this was and I’m looking forward to returning. I went with my husband and there were 2 others in our group. Graham was our instructor and he was brilliant talking us through all the safety instructions and guiding us individually giving us opportunities to go over anything we were unsure of. He was a great support and made us feel at ease. If this is something you’re interested in trying I can thoroughly recommend it.

My daughter was a first time rider but the staff at the trekking centre were nothing but helpful and informative, making sure my daughter who has now ridden there twice had nothing but the best experience on both occasions. Although they advertise a half hour trek, we were allowed to undertake two half hour treks together to make a one hour trek along the national cycle route which runs alongside the centre, so we had an enjoyable hour wandering through the beautiful local countryside whilst my daughter rode on Rocky the horse. This was a lovely way for my daughter to gain confidence whilst riding and the staff could not have been more helpful. What is also good is that they have spare boots in most sizes to ensure the riders have the correct footwear whilst on the horses as well as ensuring the hard hat fits correctly too before starting the ride. The tearooms are very good as well.

From the moment of enquiry to Mark, through booking, postponing due to bad weather, rebooking and the day itself an absolute first class experience. Welcoming and fun with Mark and Matt...great banter along with informative good coaching and explaining along with support. A great appetite teaser to want to come back for more and even hitting some clays in the process! We all absolutely loved it and the guys made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Didn't feel silly if we missed but instead we were encouraged and given tips to improve technique and accuracy. Thank you for a great day and experience and look forward to visiting again.
