This is a great place for lunch, inside seating or outside. Loved the menu, something for everybody. Of course, Lancaster Lemonade! Full bar, wait staff for pool side drinks, food. To start out, we are locals and dine here regularly for special occasions and other personal reasons. Father's Day 2019 was somewhat disappointing. We chose 6 PM because it was the last reservation available even though we prefer to dine later. We were shown to a nice table in the main dining area. It soon became apparent that there was only two people available to care for us; one being a hostess and one the server. Their attention was divided between us and the three other couples there. Then a party of eight joined us. The party was not seated in the other rooms of the dining area but joined the room where the couples were. Needless to say, the table of eight soon demanded the primary attention of the servers present. We did not get the attention we felt we should have. The food was excellent as usual. The wine was superb. But the service was not up to Kilmarnock Inn standardd.lGreetings Frederick P â Thank you very much for taking the time to review our restaurant. Your input, and the feedback from all of our guests is vitally important to us and we always want guest expectations to be met upon arrival. I sincerely apologize for us not providing you with the attentiveness that you have experienced in your past visits. You have my word that we will work harder to be better and service our guests with much more passion for excellent service. Please feel free to ask for me anytime you are in our restaurant. If I can be of assistance in any way, I would love to do so. Thank you again. Will Mulcahy

We celebrated a very special birthday dinner, this past week, however, every time we have been to Eckhard's we have been graciously greeted by the lovely owner/hostess.(And how often does that happen!). The classic white table cloth charm, with top shelf stocked bar, and tastefully contemporary background tunes, set the atmosphere for a grand celebration that appealed to all generations at our table. Our effervescent hostess was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, made suggestions, and took great care to time our meal courses and beverages timely, without hovering. In fact, she noticed we had finished our amazing broccoli side dish pretty quickly, and so kindly took it upon herself to bring us another serving bowl of the perfectly steamed and seasoned vegetable. As habit, the chef/owner came out in white jacket to make the table rounds, greet the guests, and find out if we were all satisfied with our meals. A real nice touch was the owners knowledge of wines and pairing reccomendations for our meals.

a fresh American bistro offering salads, flatbreads, sandwiches, and awesome desserts. Featuring local fresh fish options and beer & wine service.
My wife and I had lunch here today with friends. The food was good but other than the salads, was very small portions for the money. I got a fish sandwich for $15.00 and it was a 3 Oz portion on a small bun with a small coleslaw. It was good but about half what I expected to get. I will not be back as I will need to order two meals to get enough to eat. Disappointed. We are sorry you were disappointed with your fish portion. Our protein allocations are based upon the Recommended Daily Allowance by the National Academy of Medicine. Your fish should have been a 4 oz portion for lunch which fits perfectly on our soft potato bun. Our featured fish of that day was grouper which is very expensive this time of year because of catching limitations which is why the price of that fish special was more than our typical fish of the day.Management hopes that you will return and give us another opportunity to wow you. All of our offerings are freshly prepared each day from scratch including salad dressings and accompaniments. We pride ourselves on our fresh-from-scratch approach including using only the finest ingredients in all of our preparations.

Came for breakfast, (not the $65.00 Brunch). My wife and I ordered from the menu. I ordered a waffle with sausage links, my wife had fried oysters, eggs and biscuits w/gravy. Her oysters were excellent and the biscuits were very good and unique. My waffle was pretty drab (not much taste) but the sausage was good. Our waitress, while very attentive, failed to tell us that they had a breakfast buffet that would have been a good value had we known. Service was good and the view of the water was very nice.

A riverfront gourmet oyster tasting house featuring the celebrated farms of Rappahannock Oyster Company. Also enjoy 4 craft brews on tap, dozens of world-famous wines and bottled beers, and an always-changing menu of small-plate delicacies.
Stopped in for an afternoon of oysters, clams, and wine by the water. Delicious perfectly prepared and presented seafood coupled with a fantastic selection of wines. Served al fresco in a beautiful setting. Servers were great! This is an absolutely incredible way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends!!
Ran into this food trailer on a Saturday, ordered a dozen raw oysters, oyster tacos, and fried oysters. The raw oysters were outstanding. Owner said they were from two miles away and pulled out of the water that morning (less than four hours before). The taste was spectacular, perfect fresh, clean, and slight salt finish. Fried oysters were great as well, light batter so you could still taste the flavor of the oyster. Honestly, best oysters we have had. Find this food trailer when on the northern neck (hint: see Facebook posts for their daily location).

We ate recently in the Sandpiper Restaurant. It was a delightful, friendly place. Our hosts, natives of the area, told us that would be a good place for crab cakes...were they ever right. The crab cakes were rich and flavorful with no need for fillers.

Home fries with cheese peppers and onions! Fresh fruit salad. Pancakes, biscuits, and pastry. Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, bacon, and sausage gravy. Baked apples.
